A question for game thread posters
Posted: Tue Apr 22, 2008 5:50 am
I've often wondered about game thread posters. We have game thread posters for every game. the brewers have game thread posters both here and at brewerfan. the packers have game thread posters. the threads for each game are always pretty long.
I'm going to assume the real gm poster acts much the same way as the brewerfa n poster and lambeau leap game thread poster acts.
I was just wondering what you guys do and how you do it?
Do you go to the game with your laptop and then make short posts while you're watching the game? Do you ever spill beer on your laptops?
Do you go to some bar with your laptop, and watch the game, and then post your game thread posts?
Do you sit at home with your pay package and watch the game in your couch on high definition with your laptop by your side on the couch?
Do you just do the double screen on your computer, with one side for posting and the other side tuned into to some radio station that has the game?
I can see where a person might watch the game or read a recap of a game and feel the urge to post in the after the game thread. But I have never understood the lifestyle of the person who makes 50 posts in a game thread.
The last thing I would want to do is go to a sporting event with a lap top. But I recall when going to the trop in St pete for a D rays game, they had a section for laptop hookups that was very popular.
No way would I take a lap top to the Buffalo Wild Wings or McDonalds for dinner. but they do have wifi capability for some reason.
In my home, my TV and computer are in different rooms. I don't bring out my laptop while I' m watching a game. my hands are too full of coke, ruffles and pizza to pos t during a game.
Can an avid game thread poster please explain to me how and when and where they do what they do? I'm not trying to dis you for being over zeolous fans. but rather, I' m trying to understand your lifestyle. Who and what is a typical game thread poster? Where do you post from? Why do you feel compelled to post during a game rather than just sit back and enjoy it? why do you post in game threads rather than just using a chat room?
I'm sincere in my request and would ask for some sincere responses.
