Redd for Marvin/Bibby?

Post#1 » by NDaATL » Wed Apr 23, 2008 8:01 pm

Would give y'all a huge expiring deal with Bibby as well as a 21 year old young player who is already scoring 15 ppg. It would be a good start to a rebuild for you and would upgrade us.. Obviously we could add some small throw-in's if needed.

Definitely. I don't know why Atlanta would want Redd, though.

Sounds good for us.

I'm sure Atlanta needs Redd and Joe Johnson both

Atlanta wouldn't deal Horford for those guys, unless the pick is in the top 2.

I would think there's no way we get Horford from them unless Bogut is going back. Not that either will ever be a superstar, but I don't think either GM has the balls to trade them (which is OK).

After the season he had last year, Horford is untouchable, unless we are sending Bogut you are right.

As much as I loved Yi at the time, how much better would we be with Horford as the PF of the future?

Getting Marvin from them for Redd would be nice though, too. I doubt they would want to unless Marvin gets a huge contract this offseason.

It's hard for me to even watch the Hawks because it only reminds me how close the Bucks were to getting Horford.

I'd love it but they would have to be dealing JJ to another team to want Redd and even then I don't think they do the deal.

Doesn't ATL need the cash from the Bibby expiring to re-up Smith?

I wouldn't do this deal if there were a chance for a Josh Howard deal.

I also can't see Atlanta ownership taking on Redd's massive contract with Josh Smith, Childress and Marvin all to pay here in the next 3-12 months.

This deal makes absolutely no sense for either team....The Bucks would be adding a 3rd small forward and be left with no SG and no draft pick to get one. Atlanta already has a better all around 2 guard than Redd, so why would they make this move?

Put me in the camp that feel Josh Howard is over-rated.

Smith is a RFA this summer but Bibby has one year left on his deal so, no.

I agree. Hawks arent gonna take on more cap cause they need to resign there young guys. I rather trade with Dallas. Then Mo to Miami for Haslem.

JJ is the same height as Smith and Marvin. He can easily play the 3.

The Hawks need more perimeter scoring and a legit star to take the defensive pressure off JJ and Redd would certainly accomplish that.

If we trade you Marvin, we won't have to resign him. Childress won't get a big contract, Smith is the only one that would. In that case only JJ, Redd, and Smith would have pretty big contracts. And Speedy comes off the books after the next season.

BTW this deal doesn't hurt us because JJ can play SF, he's a legit 6'8" and big enough to guard SFs, he's played plenty of SF during his career and in ATL, and started there in PHX.
