MY PREDICTION FOR THE 2008-2009 SEASON

Staying:

Bogut, Mason, Yi, Simmons, Redd, Sessions, Bell

Bogut is here for the long-term and Mason really isn't a problem either way and can be used as a good bargaining chip in future trades. YI will be milked as much as they can for the next few years. Simmons will be given a second chance; then, if he improves they may consider keeping him, especially when Redd is traded. Redd, he will be traded to a contender in February for cap relief, just in time when Bogut's new contract starts. Sessions will be a back up PG given about 20 minutes per game. Bell, he's still a cheap role-player and will serve many roles as such.

Traded:

Moe Williams, Dan Gadzuric, Villanueva.

These guys are as good as gone. They don't fit the new team dynamic. Moe will be packaged with Dan and Charlie may be gone along in that trade for Baron Davis - yep I said it. Baron Davis will be our starting PG.

Even though there was a disagreement between Nelson and Davis...you honestly think they are going to give away one of the best PGs in the league for that trash? I guess Williams might fit their system fairly well but Davis is 10x the player Williams is. And then they take on our trash in Gadz in return? CV might be an interesting project for them but I'm assuming they can get better value back for Davis if they want to deal him.

If the Warriors plan is to destroy their team, then you might be correct.

I think a Coach like Don Nelson and a West Coast Team fits Moe perfectly. And I wouldn't consider Moe trash; he put up pretty good numbers this year - yeah, at the detriment of others, but still, he's capable. All 3 of those aforementioned Bucks like to shoot and play fast and it's a gamble, but one I'd take with Nelson as Coach. Gadz would be a reconciliatory gesture for 1 years guaranteed service from Davis. Besides, he's old and will want $, of which Golden State doesn't want anything to do with.

I haven't done that since college.

I think Hammond and Skiles can both make this happen.

Come on fellas, can you just picture it:

Baron Davis
Michael Redd
Bobby Simmons
YI
Bogut

Then after the all-star break:

Baron Davis
Bobby Simmons
YI
Jermain O'Neal
Bogut

(Redd - Bell for Jermain O'Neal)... Sorry Flintstone..

HAHA Simmons starting!

And then Simmons at SG!!!

Dude, I know hypothetical trades can be made on this board but it is NOT happening.

Yeah that could quite possibly be the slowest starting 2 and 3 ever. Simmons couldn't cover my fat ass but you expect him to guard NBA 2's and Yi is not a 3. Period.

Why did you stop the trade proposals there? All you had to do was say that at some point in the season, Gadz would be traded for KG and you'd have all of Boston laughing at you.

Au contraire; Simmons is big, but not as slow as you may think and he shoots like a 2. He can hit from anywhere. And YI is NOT a PF. Sorry, my pinky is fatter than him. I liken YI to Kukoc; he's got a decent shot and form. I don't think he'd be out of position entirely. Now, if were to add on about 20lbs of upper body muscle, then I would say he's totally out.

Jermaine O'Neal and Baron Davis - 2 guys which their franchises want gone. Why not gamble a bit? If you're going to build a roster, you have to take some chances and hope luck is on your side.

A few months ago, Pau Gasol was traded to the Lakers for freakin' Kwame Brown and some other nameless scrubs. Anything is possible.

Simmons is slow as hell. I would be more athletic than him after sitting on my couch for a year. Yi does not have the lateral quickness to guard SF's. I don't even know why I'm debating you on this because it's never going to happen.

Right and Memphis was trying to cut salary. If GS wants to cut salary then they'll just let Baron's contract expire instead of taking on **** like Gadzuric.

It's theoretical debate.

I saw tape of YI on his feet, and he seems light. He's a good PF in China, but always outmatched here. As a SF, he will be more comfortable.

Simmons has SG height, and his muscular upper body can do well for defending weaker opponants.

That's a possiblity, unless they are willing to gamble on Moe & CV.
