Williams undergoes right thumb surgery May 8, 2008
MILWAUKEE -- On Wednesday, May 7, Milwaukee Bucks guard Mo Williams had successful surgery to repair ligament damage in his right thumb, General Manager John Hammond announced today.
The surgery was performed by hand specialist Dr. Michelle Carlson, M.D., at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.
Williams will be sidelined for approximately six weeks after which time he will begin basketball-related activity with a splint.
He is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for training camp in October.http://www.nba.com/bucks/news/mo_thumb_080508.html
Hopefully he won't be here by then..

Say what you want about mo, but he is a warrior. He played through this injury this year for the team's sake, and he does work very hard in the offseason. He definitely does not slack when it comes to hard work. However, he thinks that he is a shooting guard, and this is his ultimate fault.

Hopefully Mo will be here when we open camp. People forget Mo played hurt this entire year, and still played very well.

Mo Williams doesn't do anything for the "team's sake" and he doesn't think he is a shooting guard, he is a shooting guard.

It isn't his thumb we should worry about, it's that damned troublesome pinkie.

He scored very well, his overall play was not that great. And when did it come out that he was hurt the entire season?

I thought that injury happened some time after the All Star break or something?

I wonder what kind of SG he'd be?
When Mike didn't start and Mo played the role of primary scorer, here were the numbers
11 games
5-6
18 FGA/g
45.0 fg%
22.5 ppg
5.1 apg
2.36 tog

Somehow I doubt his thumb had any impact on his attitude, which was one of his biggest problems this year.

His thumb had nothing to do with his lack of ability to be a leader.

I'd say his first half was great. Then the team collapsed and Mo didn't play as well.
As far as his injury goes he had that bandage on his thumb since December I believe. Maybe even earlier then that.

Ok this is a guy we know will be shopped around this summer. And we wait over a month for him to have the surgery? He last played on 4/4. Have the damn surgery right away. He'd already be more than 4 weeks into the 6 week recovery time. Teams will want to make sure he's going to be 100% before trading for him.

Guess we can't trade him.

A thumb on the mend won't stop us from shopping him, or stop him from being traded.. unless it falls off he is still on the table and hopefully quickly out the door.

Way to think positively CBQ. His recovery time will at least give him a chance to watch those Steve Nash dvd's........

...Warrior???? In the past three seasons Williams has played in 66, 68, and 58 games......sounds a hell of alot more like a wuss than a warrior.

He didn't play through it either. He had numerous games out. Soft as.

I wouldn't call him a wuss, but yea warrior is a joke.
Just ask his sore left pinky finger.
Kidding, hopefully Mo gets better sooner rather than later.
