All Star Starters and Votes-Ridnour?

Post#1 » by energee » Fri Jan 23, 2009 5:46 am

Starters in the west are
Kobe, CP3, Duncan, Amare, Yao
East is
Wade, AI, LBJ, KG, Howard

Voting is below. Does anyone know how Ridnour received the 5th highest vote for guards in the east (serious question)? Is there some secret constituency somewhere? Oregon or religion organization?
As a comparison, he had around 650,000 more votes than Bogut so it wasn't due to Bucks fans I would guess.

I saw that. He and Bruce Bowen formed an unholy alliance with the devil or something.

Fan voting is super messed up. I try not to pay any attention to it. It makes almost no sense.

+1

Cracks me up that so many fans still haven't seen through Iverson.

I think it's hilarious, to be honest, that Devin isn't starting, that AI is, that Bowen, McGrady, and Yi finished 3rd, etc. etc. etc. Fan voting is just a joke. Are Roy and Billups honestly the 9th and 10th best guards in the West? I find that quite humorous. Fan voting is just...ugh. Go Rafer Alston!!!!!!!

How the hell does GILBERT ARENAS have more votes than Joe Johnson? Is the guy spending his days making those millions voting for himself? Fan voting just lost more credibility.

Craig Counsell and David Eckstein met after the baseball season ended and talked about voting a scrappy and gritty white player into the all-star game. They settled on Luke Ridnour.

It's so obvious. I thought everyone knew.

Jefferson in the 4th>>Ridnour. Ridnour only looks good compared to Redd. He's currently at 35% in the 4th.

Then he has the clutchness of Jordan compared with Redd in the 4th currently.

Even IF Ridnour would be the 5th best guard in the East, that doesn't explain this at all.

It's not as funny now that Ridnour has been playing pretty well, but early in the season, Luke was just horrible. I wondered if it was one of those message board jokes to vote in the least likely all-star from among all the choices. But if that were the case, how could we not know about it? I remember the Antoine Walker campaign two years ago, and I read about it everywhere. People were voting hundreds of times, and it had no noticeable impact on the standings.

I'm extremely curious about what happened here.

I'd take these PG's over Ridnour based on play this year in the East:

Calderon
Bibby
Rondo
Nelson
Miller
Harris
Rose
Stuckey

Putting Ridnour at 9th in the East.

i wouldn't have to do it if you guys were able to read correctly. :D

people vote for who they want to see, regardless of whether or not they happen to be having the best season of anyone in their conference at that position.

that's all there is to it. you don't have to take an oath to only vote for the best players having the best season before they'll hand you a ballot.

now i'm done, go back to your misguided ranting, i'm so annoyed, i almost started a sentence with and :x
