Is JA in the Dunk contest? NO, J.R. Smith is

Post#1 » by Buck You » Tue Feb 10, 2009 8:41 am

Mr. Sim City on here says he is. So... is there confirmation? This is pretty big news to me, a Buck in the dunk contest would make it 10x more interesting.

Nope. Rudy Fernandez won the vote. He's in it with Dwight, Rudy Gay and the flying midget. Unless there's an injury..?

Rudy Gay is the injured one I believe. Few rumours going around that JA is the replacement. I hope so.

Yeah I should have clarified that. Rudy Gay is injured and his pulling out.

Ah my mistake. Well then, here's hoping that JA is in and order can be restored with a headbang on the rim.

I hate when I get injured and have to pull out.

I sure hope Joe is in. I would be surprised if he is chosen though. If I'm not mistaken, he finished third in the balloting behind Russell Westbrook.

True, this is an issue, but Westbrook is already playing the Rookie Sophomore game, so hopefully they want to mix it up and bring in more players already outside ot the competition. Still can't believe more people voted for Westbrook.

Knowing the Bucks luck, Joe Alexander is going to crack his skull in the dunk contest rendering him inactive for the next 18-24 months.

The dunk contest has become a joke! I don't want to see two small guys in the contest and hope JA gets the remaining spot over Westbrook. With the politics involved though, I just don't see that happening.

Well, that's not really anything new.

Eh, like he would see any time during that period to begin with.

Would have thought something official would have been announced today, regardless if Joe is replacing Gay or not

Weird that they picked a guy who wasn't even in the voting part. That said, Smith's around the back dunk a couple years back was sick, would be curious to see what else he's capable of.
