Bucks Jumbotron Intro Video

I almost forgot about this in all of the excitement of the home opener and Squad 6.
And I haven't read the game thread, so I don't know if this was mentioned in there or not.

What did people think of the new intro video that they show on the jumbotron right before they do the Bucks starting lineups?

I thought it was pretty damn cool, but I must admit that I am biased because I am in it ;)

And so are a few other RealGMers (and non RealGMers) I recruited for the video shoot.
The other RealGMers were LockDownD, BuckFan25226, jakecronus8, and DocHolliday (and his wife and two kids)

They only used 4 shots that I was in (we shot quite a bit of video that didn't make the cut) but I'm amused that this video has more of me in it than either Bogut or Redd ;)

I must say that I loved the concept of this video. The whole idea was that the fans in the Bradley Center are part of the team just like the players on the court, and they wanted to show us gathering around Milwaukee and making our way to the Bradley Center.
I think this goes along great with the whole Squad 6 concept.

So this video will be shown at every home game this season, right when they dim the lights before the Bucks starting lineup.

I was unaware that they would also be taking a direct jumbotron feed of the video on the FSN broadcast too. In retrospect, I should have told people to look for it ahead of time because I think they only did that for the home opener broadcast.

I'm sure there will be an online version of this video too, in case you missed it and can't make it to any games this season.

I liked it too, but I thought the rest of the happenings for the introductions were awful.

I'll have to watch closer (I have the game on DVR) but I only saw Gad once. Actually, my wife saw him. I was upstairs getting a beer and my wife yelled up, "Gad was just on TV!!!!" yup, she doesn't call him his real name, she called him Gad.

Someone needs to put this on youtube. Damn though, once again I move away and now all this really cool stuff starts happening for the REALGMers. Damnit. Oh well, at least I won got to experience courtside seats with GAD last year. That was cool.

I saw it on TV, and I thought it turned out really cool. The shots went by really quick and they went back and forth from the stuff that they shot with us and stuff they shot latter. I saw the one shot of the guys in the park and then a few on the street as well. I really didn't expect them to show it on TV so it caught me off guard, and I wonder if it will make it into anymore pregame shots on TV. I wonder if they will do the fan intro of the players all season? That could get pretty old. Anyway, thanks for the invite Gad, it was a lot of fun.

different thing, but i kind of wished they had played out the rim tearing down mystery a little longer.

obviously we all knew it'd be bango as soon as it came on, but i figured there'd at least be a second "update" before bango came walking out holding a rim

Did you like how that guy messed up and was like gurgling on his words for a few seconds when he was saying it was Bango in the arena, me and my friend laughed until play resumed because of it.

The intro video was really cool, but I wasn't a big fan of the music in it...just didn't really fire me up for whatever reason. Otherwise it was pretty cool.

Slinky, you don't like Icky Thump by the White Stripes. One of my favorite songs so I was admittingly pumpe when I heard/saw it.

ha yeah, there were some funny announcing moments.

somehow i missed the video, i was kind of engrossed in watching the players moving around before the intros to see if i could figure out who was starting at the 4.

I liked it.

I would have liked it more if the intro to the actual song would have included more of the next guitar riff in the song, I think it would have gotten the crowd rocking a little more.

At least I think I'm remembering right, wasn't just the intro guitar solo used?

It is better than the past few years, that's for sure. I think it was 2 years ago where we just had the players getting dressed and coaches writing on a dry erase board. What a way to spark excitement.

Personally, I like to see something that is loud and aggressive. Something that gets you in the mood to kick ass. The Bucks have never had an intro that did that for me.

loved the video, disapointed by the introductions by the people. They should have just given the mic to Rock, who always does a fantastic job.

Speaking of videos, I was wish I could have seen an updated Bucks rap on Saturday 8-)

I rescind my comment. I went and listened to the whole song, that would get me jacked at a second game. I only have 1 White Stripes CD and I'm rather disappointed in myself for not recognizing Jack White's voice........

And speaking of being in a Bucks video I could have been in that 2000 version of the light up video. They were shooting fans for that video 2 rows behind me at a pre-season game at the BC in 1999 and I could have gotten in on it but decided not to cause I thought it was corny.Looking back it would have been pretty cool to be immortalized in the classic 2000 version of light it up but I had my chance and blew it.

:D

I didn't see the new video some of guys of you are in,after hearing you guys talk about it im sorry I missed it,it sounds pretty good.I had to rush out the door and drive to Racine immediately after the game so right before tip off I was getting everything ready for my mad dash after the game and didn't get settled in until right before tip off.

The new vid is as disappointing as the logo unveiling. The last two years we had decent vids, should have stuck with that theme.

Nothing gets the juices flowing like watching a couple RealGMers fakely getting their tickets scanned, and cheesily walking through the turnstiles... all on the jumbotron. Song is weak too.

If you don't like the video, fine.

But it doesn't show any "RealGMers fakely getting their tickets scanned"

The RealGMers are all throughout the video, but the people shown getting their tickets scanned is from footage taken of people coming to the preseason game that night. There is nothing fake about them getting their tickets scanned (which was shot that lasted less than a second). That's how they got into the game. The footage of us was all shot in the afternoon outside the Bradley Center (or in an empty Bradley Center) and around the area, with the exception of two shots when we returned that night for the Bucks game. One wasn't used and then the final shot is us walking in the tunnel to our section on the 200 level where jakecronus and I are doing a celebratory hand clasp.

I'd rather watch computer animated deer running through a computer animated city...sorry. That at least captures the imagination as sad as that sounds.

Watching fans on a jumbotron going into the Bradley Center with their Bucks gear on just does nothing at all to stimulate the senses. It feels really desperate, as if to say 'you dont have to be embarrassed to be here, these guys came too and they're not ashamed of being Bucks fans.'

I will admit, I thought this would turn out worse than a hastily made Cleveland tourism video. After the shoot, I just didn't see how the concept would translate compared to other video intros from the past. I had no expectations and wouldn't be shocked if we didn't make the cut. After seeing it at the game, I was pleased. I like how it had a rock/rap star feel to it, kind of edgy. I wouldn't be surprised if music videos were what that production company specializes in. It is a departure from the old days of highlights of dunks, that's youtube quality stuff anyone could put together. Milweskee, I just don't get where your coming from with this one. Is you motivation to go to/watch a game based on the buzz you get from the intro vid? To say you prefer the bloated CG deer from like 5 seasons ago is laughable. The focus is not on just the fans getting ready for the game, it was about the players getting prepared at the same time. I think you should congratulate and not hate on this one. These people had a vision to get the fans involved and a lot of us Die-hard's had a ridiculous home opener experience due impart to this.
