Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brian Campbell will miss at least a month with a right knee injury he suffered in Friday's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, coach Joel Quenneville told reporters.
Campbell, who will undergo an MRI exam Sunday, collided with the Penguins' Eric Tangradi in the second period and left the game.
"It was a shoulder-to-shoulder hit," Tangradi said after the game. "I think his skate may have gotten caught."
Campbell missed the final 14 games of the regular season last year, plus part of the postseason after the Washington Capitals' Alex Ovechkin checked him into the boards. Ovechkin was suspended for the play.
Campbell had 38 points during the 2009-10 season.
