Toews hurt

Post#1 » by SportsWorld » Wed Jan 2, 2008 4:13 am

Got hurt like 15 minutes ago. No word yet on the injury but it appears to be his left leg. If you hear any updates post it here. Hopefully Johnny is alright.

As if the result wasn't bad enough, rookie Jonathan Toews suffered a knee injury during the first period. The standout center will return to Chicago to have the injury evaluated further, but head coach Denis Savard believes it's a second degree strain to Toews' MCL, saying he could be out "two to four weeks, but we'll find out a little more this week."

It's times like these we need Havlat to be healthy for some offensive scoring.

Shouldn't he be back by now?

That may be one of his first games back. He is out 4 weeks so he should be back Feb. 3rd. I think you are fine.

From his Yahoo profile:
Jan 11 Toews (knee) is expected to return sometime following the All-Star break, according to TSN.ca.

Injury updates

Jason Williams- 1/17/08
Williams resumed skating this week, but is still one of seven injured regulars out for the Blackhawks, according to the Chicago Tribune. He has missed 22 straight games and 26 of the last 27 games overall - including Wednesday's 6-1 win over the visiting St. Louis Blues - with a groin injury. Williams hasn't played since a Nov. 28 home win over Tampa Bay, and was moved to the injured reserve a day later. The Blackhawks visit Colorado on Friday.
