Hawks general manager Dale Tallon has made what he termed a strong offer to free-agent center Peter Forsberg, who's trying to work his way back from a foot injury.
Word around the NHL is that if Forsberg decides he's healthy enough to play, he will make a comeback. Colorado, Vancouver and Philadelphia are the leading candidates, but Tallon has been working hard to land him and said the Hawks were a "dark-horse contender."
