Hawks trade for Brendan Morrison. Need depth at center, for sure. Now get a solid d-man (or two).

And Brian Connelly is a younger Brian Campbell. Saw him plenty in Rockford, good offensive d-man, but horrendous defensively. Not losing much.

I was excited to get Morrison too, especially considering that we gave up practically nothing for him. I am a bit curious though about the amount of C's we have now. When Toews comes back we will have him and Kruger as future scoring-line C's, and Bolland seems to have the 3rd line C spot locked up. So what do we plan to do with this guy? Do we use him as a 4th liner? Or does Kruger get bumped off the 2nd line?

Also, how long do we have this guy under contract for? Is he just a rental (in which case he will give way to Kruger when he gets more experience), or is he under contract for multiple years?

Morrison's up after this year. And you get Kruger off the second line.

Do you expect that Morrison will be re-signed after this season? If not, I'm assuming that you have Kruger moving back to the 2nd line? I think he's going to be a good 2nd liner, and if he moves back there next season, it just means that he has one more year of experience under his belt.

No, they won't re-sign Morrison.

I didn't think they would. Hopefully he just provides us with some more depth and veteran experience as we head towards the playoffs. It will also give Kruger some more time to develop his game down on the 4th line, as I mentioned before.

Not quite sure what you're getting at there, apollo. I'd be stoked to live in the US and be able to watch Blackhawks games.

It's not like the Hawks have been worth watching in the last month.

Well this season appears over. Every move Stan Bowman has made so far has been a complete disaster. He needs to go.

SportsWorld's here, which means everyone needs to be fired.

I know that the Hawks have been playing poorly, but you guys seriously don't know how lucky you are. I'd kill to live in the US and be able to see NHL, NBA, MLB and NFL games whenever I felt like it.

Return to Chicago Blackhawks
