Hawks vs Kings

Post#1 » by TNBT » Sat Jan 19, 2013 11:39 pm

First win of the year for the Hawks, 5-2 over LA!

Hossa with 2G and 1A... Guess that answers the question about how he would go coming back from that head injury. Kane, Frolik and Toews all scored as well. Our PK team, which sucked last year, was perfect against 5 Kings PP.

The stars in Hossa, Kane, and Toews all looked quite good especially 81 coming off last year. While 5/5 of the PK was good, the Kings didn't seem quite in sync and I am going to reserve judgement.

While Carcillo going down (seems like a bad sign for him) is a little bummer, I am hoping it will fix the lines a bit. Stalberg just plays way under his potential with linemates who play as poorly as the third line did today. Shaw was totally lost, and while Kruger played alright the guy needs to learn how to win faceoffs.

I thought Hammer played really well, Oduya had a few slip ups that Hammer covered for him. Leddy and Brookbank were quite brutal imo, hoping to see Rozsival tomorrow.

Crawford has clearly improved his rebound control but.... those two goals he gave up just remind me of all the horrible memories of last season. The first one he is leaning his head out and part of his body isnt even covering the goal while trying to see past that screen. Yea it was a tough screen, but Scuderi flipped that thing as hard as a peewee player would. You cant be TOTALLY clueless it wasn't exactly a mess of 6-7 guys in front of Crawford. Then what has been my biggest pet peeve of Crawford since he has been a Hawk, once he is down, the guy just refuses to get up. It's so annoying watching him flop around when nobody even has the puck, get back up dude. I would hate to think of what would be going on now if the hawks hadn't spotted him a lead.

All in all 2 points is nice. I look forward to Saad and Rozsival getting a shot tomorrow.

I saw about a month somewhere. Apparently it isn't related to last year's injury.

If it's not related to last years injury, then that's good news. If he had re-injured himself in the same way as last year, after having had so much rehab time, I'd be worried about what that would say about his ability to play his natural game without having a chronic injury problem in that particular area.
