Dale plucks another Hawk (Pirri)

Post#1 » by GRADEN » Mon Mar 3, 2014 10:49 pm

Seems like this is the 5th, 6th, 7th deal with our old drafter... Pirri was only 22 and always killed it in Rockford. We got a 3rd in this draft and a 5th in next. I'd say this is fair value both ways as I'm not sure fundamentally Pirri was ever going to fit into the hawks no nonsense POA.... Bowman has been super busy so far and honestly while all the moves have been small, they have been smart.

I pretty much agree. I really liked Pirri's offensive potential to fill that 2nd line center role that has been vacant for a while now, but his defensive game never really caught up to where it needed to be to be a part of the Blackhawks system. Probably for the best that we moved him while he's still young and has potential, as we got something decent in return. It was also good for him, as he goes somewhere where he will have an opportunity to see more ice time.

I like what I've see from Teravainen so far. He definitely has the high-level offensive talent to be the long-term fit at center on the 2nd line, but we'll have to see how his defensive game develops. He's still a teenager though, so he has a lot more development and improvement left in him. I'm really excited to see how he develops and how good he can become.
