The road starts here. So excited for this tonight.

It will be very interesting to see how Brad Richards fits in.

The Hawks have dominated this match up recently. The Stars have new acquisitions Jason Spezza and Ales Hemsky, from Ottawa, to add to their arsenal. Goaltender Kari Lehtonen will try to stop a team that has historically shelled him. Hawks average 4 goals per game vs. Lehtonen and are 4-0-2 vs him in last 6 games.

My take on game one....

- Crawford looked mid season
- TvR is trusted already
- Hossa may only played 50-55 reg season games, which is fine
- Smith picked up some vet skating tricks
- Saad looked fast
- And Kane / Toews still good lol

Overall we should have lost 4-2 but cc won us game 1. Definitely out played for 70% of this game

Finally.... Dallas a playoff team with that offense, defense / goal tending major concerns though

Well, it was an exciting season opener. They came out flat and got dominated for the first two periods. Crawford was amazing. Hjalmarson was great as always on the PK. Then, they started to look like our Blackhawks again and really came alive and just dominated the 3rd and the OT.

I am really high on Ben Smith, Brendan Saad, and TVR going into this season.

I really think Saad is going to have a breakout season. I've liked him from the start but he just looks ready to become a star. Like you said, GRADEN, he looks like a more powerful skater and faster. So much talent and potential. High ceiling player.

Yea did u see the right corner puck where Smith skated left, drew the stars guy back and then circled in front right / won the puck and got it to the crease? That is what Toews is so amazing at.... It was really an amazing play most don't pick up on I was super impressed with it. Smith has a very decorated career actually, very well respected guy.

Saad has size, strength, and skill. I think he needs a little puck handling work though. He is a little rigid with his hands at times... Still 21 (for like a week if memory serves)!

TvR looks big on the ice, good back pressure, needs to stay home a little more and get a little lower but his future is bright.
