Game 2 tonight 10/11; Sabres bring it dull

Post#1 » by GRADEN » Sat Oct 11, 2014 7:42 am

Should be a fun one to kick off the home stand... The Sabres have Phoenix suns backup backup rookie point guard Tyler Ennis, 18 year old phenom Sam Reinhart (would have been my #1 pick hands down btw), and 3 career backup goalies whom gaa is right at 3... Yep u heard / read that right (read it on the screen and then heard yourself say it to yourself in ,,,, ahh you know what I'm saying)..... 3gaa combined CAREER from the 3 of them (or something very close to it,... It's a lot of math and only 2 other dudes read this besides me).

Insert Connor McDavid talk..... Aka LeBron for hockey fans.

Now buffalo does have some nice vets but either they are on the way down or they are just good enough to net them something decent in return before the deadline....

No playoffs for them here, they are like BP over open water, they are in a tanking mood...

After missing the season opener, I'm really looking forward to this. I've missed hockey so freakin' much... my AppleTV better work...

One thing that I noticed on the Hawks website was that their depth chart had Shaw as 2C and Richards at 3C. Are they the way the lines were in the opener? If so, why? Richards makes so much more sense on a scoring line, and Shaw is a great part of that gritty checking line... can anyone enlighten me?

Fantastic response and maturity from our rook...

"That's on us, kind of, to get [the coaches'] trust and confidence to put us out there in some different situations, maybe, that in Game 1 maybe we don't have that trust built up that you only get from playing in games and showing them you can do it," said van Riemsdyk, who made his NHL debut against the Stars. "I think it would be best for everyone if we could take a couple minutes away from some of those guys and let them get a little extra rest, so they have a little more fuel in the tank. But it's on us to get that confidence built up [with] the coaches."

U missed the game? U nuts lol!!!!! Directv free NHL ice if u have it. Insert dead horse

Yea Kruger in for defense only... Shaw more a middle of the action cog while Richards playing the skirts for passes or rebounds to shaws tips / misdirection.... Can't argue with that as I actually think Shaw may already be better than Richards at the 10 or so years between them.

Maybe it's me or if I just don't know his game that much, but br is not really that strong of a skater - more of an angle and lower strength guy?

Hey jvann... Benn knocked us down twice on one play and got zero retaliation... Was bicks on the ice? I was po'd no one helped.... Also on Toews into the left boards from behind there was nothing.... Mad again.

Yea don't jinx it... But obviously this wasn't a fair fight.... I called all of that in my preview, 0 goaltending this year for them. Connor McDavid..... This is what their season is all about make no mistake about it.

I loved the well ill just throw the stick at the puck this time. On sharps 50ft shot.

Well got to say again, thought TvR looked real good. He is earning that ice time. On the flip side, Runblad just looks nervous and a little out of sync with this team. I predict he goes down and Brennan comes up by game 5-6.

Great intro music / presentation / show btw... Those guys must feel really stoked to wear that jersey ya know.

Thoughts on Richards / bicks? Didn't look up the TOI but doesn't seem like they are called on much

Sharp 7 shots in 16 mins lol

Seabs / DK - 51 mins - no other hawk over 20... This has to stop

Richards 14
Bicks 13

Shaw 17
Smith 16

Shaw is soooo valuable I can't even imagine us without him.

Krugers value just plummeting unfortunately

Also Richards in 14 TOI in a game we win by 4 gets a -1. That's sad.

Saad gets 3 helpers... Nice

Well it was a mismatch as I said.... All of their goaltenders will be out of the league by next season u watch. TvR is the big story in my eyes.... Looks very good.... Runblad just the opposite.

Introductions..., just wow

I actually enjoy mismatches... as long as it's in the Blackhawks favour.
