ChrisKuc
#Source close to the #Blackhawks has no knowledge of a Marty Turco signing. If it's true, WGN-TV's Dan Roan is the only one with it.

What do you guys think of the decision to sign Turco? I guess financially it must have been a better option than signing Niemi to a longer term deal, but I'm not really sure what I think about it. Niemi is now all but gone, and RealGM's WireTap has Huet basically already out the door as well. I like Turco, but he is getting up there in age, so I really hope that we have a decent quality young goalie in the system who can take over soon, because I really wouldn't want to have to rely on Turco and a scrub backup for any long period of time.

Love it. Turco's a better goaltender than Niemi, who was made to look better than he was because of the best defense in the league (which is still in tact). Huet will either be traded or head to the minors, Crawford is a more than suitable backup, and frankly was better than Niemi two years ago when they both got time in Chicago. Niemi was chosen because he couldn't be sent to the minors.
