Please lord, let his sons sell. Please.

We need a rebirth of hockey in this town. The Hawks are an embarrasment.

He may have been a good man, and a philantropist, but he was a total failure at running a sports franchise. The legacy of cheap ownership in Chicago is hopefully, finally running its course.

Are you listening Rocky?

I knew there be talk in Chicago about this. Probably joy in Chicago, especially after Grossman cost the Bears another game. I know a Blackhawk fan 3 years ago on the AOL chatroom whose probably partying now. Sounds messed up but the way owners run franchises into the ground & refuses 2 sell 2 a person who cares about the team & winning. Having 2 wait 4 the owner 2 die so the team can get better.
But now the question can be asked? Who's the worst organization in Chicago now? I've heard that the only good one in Chicago is the Wolves...and they're a minor league team.

Well, the Hawks are still the worst as Dollar Bill's sons said they would continue to ru(i)n the franchise in their father's image. That being said, if the Estate sells the franchise, (a Reinsdorf group would be the logical choice as he and Wirtz were partners in the Bulls and the United Center) then the Bears would have the clear monopoly on bad ownership.

Reinsdorf has the Sox and Bulls. They've both been somewhat consistent winners and have won titles.

Cubs are for sale, but even in an ownership vaccuum they are spending money and still have a slim chance at a title.

Bears. Bad.

I was hoping the same thing. Prayers go out to the family first, but on a business standpoint, this can only be good news for the future of the Blackhawks.

Things that need to be changed
-Ticket prices
-Fan friendliness
-Games on television
-The desire to win

I hope the his sons sell to Reinsdorf. There's money to be made in Chicago with the Hawks but not under Wirtz and Jerry knows it too.

Maybe a bit of competence can seep into the organization now. Maybe not

:o You sure about Reinsdorf?! I heard he's not such a great owner either. It is players that win championships, not organizations. Heard that he drove the White Sox fans away for some years even when they did good. B4 the world series year. And they coulda improved quicker when Jordan retired again. I know Crumbs Krause was gm at the time screwing up. I felt that they shoulda traded Pippen in the mid 90's but the Bulls were too greedy.

Kind of the opposite in Chicago lately, bad stuff in 3's now good stuff in 3's. Grossman no longer starter, Tribune Co. selling the Cubs, & now Bill Wirtz no longer owner of the Hawks. Now they could get the grand slam if the Bulls would get rid of their bad luck black uniforms. Even when Jordan was playing the black uniforms were bad luck. They would barely beat or lose to inferior teams with them when they would easily beat them with the traditional red.
