Cubs president John McDonough is expected to be introduced as the new president of the Blackhawks at a noon news conference Tuesday at the United Center.

Hawks chairman Rocky Wirtz, who took over operations of the team following the death of his father William Wirtz in September, will present the team's new president.

McDonough was scheduled to meet with Cubs department heads at 9 a.m. and speculation around Wrigley Field offices was that he would be leaving the club.

I don't know how much affect this will have on the Blackhawks organization if any. The organization already seems to be on the way up with Dale doing a great job himself with his transactions.

McDonough will just go through the off court hockey operations and the business standpoints of the Blackhawks.

With the Cubs, McDonough the Cubs went from worst to first...

In the last couple months-

1) Rocky Wirtz took over for his father
2) The Blackhawks announced that home games (at least some) would be on television
3) They actually had an advertising campaign for those home games - one that actually works!
4) They have hired a new team President - one of the top people in all of sports

This team is heading in the right direction

Good. He was the guy that created the very successful Cubs Convention a few years back and it sounds like he will do the same for the Hawks. He also brings people into the stadium. The Cubs have sold out pretty much every game for the last few years win or lose. He is a very good president.
