Ruutu traded to Hurricances for Andrew Ladd

Lapointe traded to Senators for 2008 6th-Round Pick

Andrew Ladd is only 23 years old and he has had a pretty decent career so far. Great move by Tallon.
I would have liked to have gotten rid of 37 year old Robert Lang for another good young player but oh well.

There was a rumor of Havlat to Boston for Kessel, which would have made me crap my pants in excitement.

That would have been incredible if the Hawks pulled that one off. Not sure why the Bruins would even think about doing that.

There was also a rumor that Lang left the ice during practice earlier today leading some to believe he had been traded.

I like the Lapointe trade because he was pretty much useless on the ice and we weren't going to resign him anyways.

The Lapointe trade was nothing more than a salary dump so it was a fairly good trade. The Senators get a guy who could lead them deep in the playoffs and the Blackhawks dumped salary. Great for both teams.

Return to Chicago Blackhawks
