7. Vancouver Canucks (32-23-10; 74 PTS; 17 games left)
8. Colorado Avalanche (34-26-6; 74 PTS; 16 games left)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
9. Nashville Predators (33-25-8; 74 PTS; 16 games left)
10. Phoenix Coyotes (33-28-5; 71 PTS; 16 games left)
11. Columbus Blue Jackets (30-27-10; 70 PTS; 15 games left)
12. Chicago Blackhawks (31-28-6; 68 PTS; 17 games left)
13. Edmonton Oilers (31-30-5; 67 PTS; 16 games left)
6 points out of 7th/8th, games in hand over Colorado and Nashville, but not Vancouver, who happens to be hosting the Avs tonight. Avalanche just got hit with a freight train of injuries. Predators in Calgary, Columbus in Edmonton, 'Yotes idle. Calgary's two points back of Minnesota for the division.
The scenario we want
Blackhawks win
Canucks win
Flames win
Oilers win

I love Toews' mask.
This game has gotten pretty physical also.

Byfuglien scored a goal for the Hawks early in the 3rd. Minnesota came back with a goal of their own.

Hawks score an empty net goal and will take this one!

A must-win in a place they haven't won in in years. Nashville's gonna roll to a win, need the Canucks to pull one out in Colorado and Calgary to beat the jackets and the Hawks will be right back in the thick of this thing.

And as I type that, Calgary breaks the shutout with 15:00 to go and Vancouver just tied Colorado.

Flames hold on for the win, Jackets and Hawks now tied with 70 points, Blackhawks with the upper hand with more wins

Colorado takes 2-1 lead, if they win, they move to 7th, Nashville moves to 8th, Vancouver falls to 9th

And the Hawks have more games to play then any of the teams they need to pass up. We can use that to our advantage.

One thing we don't want out of this Canucks-Avs game is a 3rd point.

We have a tough game against Anaheim tomorrow(?). It would be HUGE if we came away with a win.

Tomorrow night against Anaheim will be the toughest test for this team yet. Anaheim is playing some great hockey of late and have reasserted themselves as a power out West again. At home, get it done
