Rodya wrote:^ I really don't see any argument to suggest otherwise. It's pretty damn obvious the Wings have been sub par at home this season. It's not only the matter of wins & losses at home, but the fact that they've been absolutely bitch slapped in a lot of their losses.

Exactly why I wrote what I did, which was then supported by both Babcock and Redmond.

However, they seem to have turned it around in the last week or so, the effort is definitely there.

Yep. Just in time to get into playoff form.

Ugh, another tough loss at home. Great effort but you have to wonder when you can count on the Wings winning at home more often than not.

Oh boy...just gave up 3 goals in the first period at home. When does this end?

6-2 Blues halfway through the second period.

I wonder if the Wings can petition the league to play the rest of their games on the road.

Don't worry though--nearly four months of having a losing record at home is too small a sample size to think there's anything wrong.

"The Advocater" came up big in that last game on both ends of the ice. Nice!

Home ice advantage might just bury the Wings in the playoffs.

Start at home: 13-3
Finish: 21-20

That's 8-17 at home after the hot start. Not good at all.

If Jimmy Howard can play well throughout the playoffs then that's good enough for me. That's the hot question that needs to be answered. We are the 3 seed for a reason, because of the games we lost. And those games lost were due to either injuries or suspect goaltending We can only hope to stay healthy which means that our final result will hinge with heavy pressure on the young Mr. Howard. He controls the keys to our fate now. Can our defense help him out at least?

Yeah, they played a solid Game 1 and absolutely manhandled the Coyotes for the first half of Game 2 until the power play fairy arrived with her continual string of gifts for Phoenix.

That's ok, a sweep might do us some good anyhow and send a message to Illitch and the GMs that they need to get their act together and fix the holes on this team. I'm getting pretty sick and tired of this team tbqh, so much potential to dominate, and so much disappointment every year. We are like the Patriots of the NFL and it annoys me greatly.

Well, at least I'll get to watch the end of the season, or watch them play for another day. Tickets for tomorrow just got dropped in my lap.

The Patriots have won three Superbowls in the last 10 years--that's annoying?

20 years of playoff appearances--the longest of any team in all four major US sports--as well as 4 Stanley Cups in the last 13 years is an impressive record by anyone's standards...except apparently yours. I don't think you have any idea how hard it is to win the championship in any sport, much less do it multiple times within a single regime. Luckily there are lots of real fans out there.

Being compared to the Patriots...isn't that good?

Now while it is unfortunate to not see us win the title yearly, it's also not realistic to think we will win 15 straight titles. The fact is, we compete every single year. We have a real shot at winning the Cup every single year. And hell we win it sometimes. I'll take that all day

TSE, honest question, do you watch hockey?
