Winning Game 1 is key. We need to go out and set the tone.
This series is going to be really fun to watch
I agree we need to send a message to the insiders and analyst's that this team is for real.
San Jose is no push over and they have alot of talent and one of the best in the biz with Joe Thornton. I feel like if we could win this series it would be a huge boost and give us some momentium for the cup run. Of course I would love to see Vancouver in the Western Confrence finals and then either Ottawa or New Jersey in the Stanley Cup finals but I think it will be Buffalo in the cup finals vs Detroit.
Can't wait till Thursday!!!!!

Anybody here familiar with how hostile the Red Wings crowd is towards the opposing team's fans? Kind of curious since I'll be at the game Saturday. I'm from Indiana and have been to Sharks games in Columbus and Nashville. Being fairly new teams, obviously neither of them have the devoted fan base that Detroit has. I was at game five in Nashville, and you wouldn't believe how many people came up to me, shook my hand, and told me good luck after we just knocked them out of the playoffs. Obviously I'm not expecting that here.
Anyways, here's to a good series

Detroit fans in general are notoriously evil; go to a Lions game wearing other colors and prepare for hell.
Luckily Wings fans usually are fine. Ive been to numerous games and never seen anything bad. But i wouldnt expect handshakes and goodlucks. Just be humble.
Anyways, enjoy, Joe Louis Arena is a classic and an excellant place to watch hockey.

Its baffling why we play in the Western Conference
We play in the Western Conference for good reason. If you look at all the Eastern Conference teams they're virtually all east coast and to keep it balanced you have to take some east teams out to the Western Conference. I agree its not always fair, but theres no way to fix it without adding a couple teams out west and then balancing some teams back into the east. I however don't want to ever see things change, I love the thrills of the old rivalrys between Colorado, Chicago, Dallas, Calgary, St. Louis, etc...

Well of course we are going to boo the other team and what not but the Wings fans are very loud and into their hockey hence the "Hockey Team" moniker or nickname. Just don't say like Yzerman sucks or bad mouth the Wings and you should be fine. Enjoy the game and have a great one.

Well at least we are not like the "Black and Silver Patrol" or "Raider Nation" as the Oakland Raiders fans like to call themselves. I mean my uncle is a diehard Raider fan and will not watch Raider football unless he and everyone is wearing Silver and Black if not you can't be in the same room

We played terrible the first 10 minutes, but Zetterberg tied it. So we have that momentum
What first period were you watching?

I don't miss those days. Hell we got washed up bums like Hatcher and Joesph who were garbage. If Toronto cut's a player outside Sundin, McCabe, Kabrle or Raycroft I don't want anybody else on that team.
We played a monster and pulled that one out. Great for the team and every Red Wings fan. Hope we can pull this one off tonight!!
