Season Opener! Habs 3 Canes 2!!

Post#1 » by Snayr » Thu Oct 4, 2007 3:31 am

Habs opened up the season on the right foot today! Koivu was dynamite and I've always loved Streit. Then there was Huet who also played great tonight. Sheldon who? The Habs scored all of their goals on the powerplay tonight!

What did you guys think about the game?!

Habs win season opener against Canes

I didn't get to watch it, living out in Western Canada, but from highlights and the stat line things looked good.

Did any of the young guys look particularly impressive? Thankfully I will be able to see them play on Saturday.

I actually watched it on Sopcast last night. I'm in Ottawa but I dont have cable here (poor student lol) so I was looking thru the list and saw NHL3. So I clicked on it and BAM! They were showing the Habs vs Canes. When the intermission came up they showed the Leafs vs. Sens but always switched back to Habs vs. Canes when it came back on. It was great! Hopefully they continue to do this all year long.

As far as the young guys, Grabovski looked pretty good out there. He was buzzing a little bit.

I think Koivu was being realistic in saying that the team had an opportunity to make the playoffs but not win the cup. We have a decent team but man are we young and are sort of rebuilding in a way. He was just being realistic, and I'd rather he say what he did, instead of trying to say "Oh yeah, we'll win the stanley cup this year for sure!" cuz we know that more than likely won't happen.

Im sure he was trying to be realistic but when you play for Montreal...Comments like that are not accepted.back in 93,do u think they planned to win the cup againts L.A?You dont play to lose so that commen is not appropriate...Just my opinion

Leafs game sucked!Huet and markov with 2 bad assist to the leafs
Im happy they lost!Losing like that will make them realize if you play like S*** you will lose every game!

I'd still rather he said it and have people think we're the underdogs. Like in '93... they were the underdogs and were carried to the cup by a rookie goaltender! Do I feel history repeating itself? ;)
