ESPN.com - The Canadiens have fired coach Jacques Martin.
Randy Cunneyworth was named interim coach for the remainder of the season. Larry Carriere becomes assistant coach'

Great news!
Though until we fire that Clown Gauthier, it's somewhat irrelevant anyways.

I see some of the french media are in an uproar over the habs hiring a guy who doesn't speak french...
get a hold of yourselves, wow. I think hiring people that are french has actually been apart of the problem in Montreal. Let's just get the best guys for the job.
Not entirely surprising though. Quebec's language is always the center of the universe...

I don't think Martin was as much the problem as the roster he has to deal with.
The Martin firing gives Gauthier till the offseason to save his job.

Randy Cunneyworth is the anti-Gautier in terms of mentality.
Media in Quebec can cry all the want, the reality is that he is a pretty good coach given the circumstance.
