He is done here, got to read the room. We wouldn't take him for the minimum. Moore has his role at minimum.

Gonna miss Josh, crazy seeing my first post in this thread and how high I was on him.

You have to admit that the first half Okogie was different than anything we've seen after. He was a ball of energy that ignited the team, sort of what Vando does now.

Ya if Moore is G-League I’d be shocked… we got plenty of players we can move to keep the rookie on the roster. He’s a legit 2-way player with leadership traits is vs alot of other mere chuckers out there.

We still have the bird rights if a sign and trade is needed. I think it was about the QO being to high relative to his value. I think he likes it here and given a reasonable offer might stay. That said, this is a business and for more playing time and more money he will do what is best for him.

Okogie is a great kid, but I'd say it's less than 50/50 he's even in the NBA next year. He's a fine defender, but not nearly good enough to make up for his complete lack of offense.

He was a non-factor on the Nigerian national Basketball team. That should tell you he's not an NBA player.

He's a flawed player but one who also has real gifts and who has done everything the team asked him to do, even playing PF under Ryan when needed. I don't know what the problem with the shot is; is it a vision thing, a rhythm thing, a confidence thing?

Anyway, I hope they keep him, if for no other reason than you won't see many G-Leaguers being able to do these things.

You keep him on a small, multi-year contract and use him like teams use Boban (that is, mostly in special circumstances), and if he develops a shot, great.

If only he took off, I could have had a claim to fame as helping to nickname an NBA player. Oh well. Love the guys heart, I wish it would have worked out. He could have been a monster if he has a jumper.

This isn’t unexpected news. The team likes Okogie, but they simply couldn’t keep him in the rotation, especially with minutes going to the longer Vando and a slow shooting start for McDaniels. When we add a couple 1st rounders and probably someone in free agency, there just isn’t a spot for Okogie.

This is a minor loss, too. I expected he would get traded at the last deadline, if just for a future 2nd, and we could have sent Josh to a place with minutes to further his career.

GP2 is super low usage, but he has shot 62/36/62 for GS in his 2 years there. He has to be defended.
