Others have figured out how to maximize the talent that they already had. I gave credit to both and tried to group into tiers.

Tier 1 - KG
Tier 2 : KAT, Love, Butler, Gobert, Billups, Rose
Tier 3 : Ant, Jefferson, Roy
Tier 4 : Wiggins, Lavine, Laettner
Tier 5 : Marbury, Gugliatta, Cassell, DLo, AK47, Spreewell, Porter, Rider, Terrell Brandon, Antoine Walker, Pek, Rubio, KMart

Rose?

And is Roy getting a "lifetime achievement award"? Because he played 5 games for us.

If Michael Jordan played one game for the Wolves, would he not be one of the most talented Wolves ever?

If he played that game for the wolves this season I would answer no. In the time he played for the Wolves his talent would not be at a level to make him one of our all time most talented.

I approached this is who was / were the most talented Wolves at any time during their NBA career, and not just their Timberwolves career.

If you don't account for their Wolves careers, doesn't it lose all context in relation to the team?

Is Ray Allen on the list?

Do we retire Roy's number?

IMO it has to be during their career while a member of the Timberwolves.

I can understand your interpretation of the intent of the thread. To me, you don't really lose "talent". It is something you have or you don't. It is possible to lose physical abilities and health, but I view that as being different than talent.

I get where you are coming from. It has already been agreed to by the OP that talent was a poor choice of words. I'm going with which one will have the most positive impact on wins and losses.

I thought this was a good summary of Timberwolves that won major awards while they played here. I think a good case could be made for Kevin Love as #2, with KAT close on his heels, and Gobert comparable to KAT. I’m with Kokomo though - I hope in four years, KAT, Gobert, and Ant have pushed Love off the Mount Rushmore or Wolves players.

I think as of now Love would be on that Mount Rushmore, but like you I'm hopeful and somewhat confident he will be displaced.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
