The Wolves believe Gobert will elevate their defense while also unlocking Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards and D'Angelo Russell.

"It's a very small list of elite players," said Minnesota president of basketball operations Tim Connelly.

"When you're able to add a difference-maker and not trade a guy in a similar tier, it's so rare ... we didn't think we'd get a call like this for a long, long, long time."

I wonder if TC thinks if Twolves were to hypothetically make Gobert available in a trade (as soon as he’s eligible for one) that he would be able to get back 4 first rd picks for him.

We need to focus on the root cause ... DLo. How do we move him?

The first move, and a move I didn't understand was included in the Gobert trade, is trading Dlo for Mike Conley.

Jazz save money for next off-season, Wolves get a better fit and a veteran presence.

The second move I like it trading Dlo for Terry Rozier. Rozier is locked in long-term and is a combo-gyard who can shoot and score. Considering our lack of cap space moving forward, adding a player locked in long-term makes sense financially.

I think the thing that feels the worst about this team is all of the stuff that appears to be happening outside of the court that trickle onto the court.

KAT, D Lo, and to some extent even Ant have stopped progressing and in some cases even regressed. Where is this conditioning stuff coming from in regards to Ant? Why has KAT completely regressed inside of the 3 point line and with his ability to create his own shot? Why has D Lo regressed physically and even more than physically as a shooter?

Why are they passive aggressively calling eachother out and airing dirty laundry. Why has Ant leaned into this whole physical thing and the fatigue and how did this happen when all we heard all off season was that Ant was in the best shape of his life and ready to take on the burden of that next step. Why does it feel like Finch doesn't have control? Why/where is this coming from with the Ant comments about going smaller and that being better for him? Who is making all of these decisions that are leading to this disfunction that's bubbling?

Something is off here and I'm not sure what it is. I think if the tone around this team were different even with medoicre play it would feel different. This team feels like it's on the verge of imploding in some ways when we should be at the stage where there's patience and confidence.

:noway: There are mistakes and spacing that I think can be fixed once the players know each other better. Some of the poor play on DsLOw is just sloppy individual efforts. Ant had some of that but he did enough to overlook them. What I am wondering is are we better off if we traded for Mitchell instead of Gobert? Would DM fits better with our play style from last year? I am also not concern DM and DsLOw overlaps. I do feel Gobert in the long run will benefit Towns. He is getting a lot less physical punishment and just needed to figure out how to shoot over shorter players.
