Game 51: Minnesota vs. Memphis

We’ve gone 10-4 since the players only meeting after the six game skid.

What is frustrating is who we lose to.

I must admit DLo played excellent defense today: he missed once his player under the rim, but overall great effort, great positional defense, moves his feet, rebounds the ball.

Early this month during a game thread, I posted,”Did DLo just fight through a screen?” It felt like the first time I ever saw him do this.

Early this week, I saw him take a charge. Again, it felt like the first time I ever saw him do this.

I don’t know if it was the Player’s Only meeting, or, like many players, trying harder in a contract year, but DLo is finally … finally .. showing some effort on defense.

I don’t think he’s good at it. He may never be good at it, because his brains can’t make up for his lack of athleticism. But at least now he’s trying, and that makes me feel much better.
