He didn’t grab many tonight, but he was an absolute beast boxing out.

He seems like he almost gets a lot of rebounds, but he is just not quite quick enough or strong enough to actually get control of the ball.

This was a really fun game to watch, it's always a treat to watch our prospects when we are on the right side of a blowout.

I just want to give a shout out to the coaching staff, they deserve a ton of credit because a lot of guys who don't play much or play much together ran the offense flawlessly and unselfishly tonight and played really really hard and for each other.
Just wonderful to watch. Great job Finchy and Iowa wolves coaches must be doing some great things too.

That play where Garza made a bucket and then full-on 100 meter dashed back on defense is one of the best things I've seen in a long time, Wolves need to make a GIF of that and run a marketing campaign.

And shout out to Grady and his "respect the HEY" for Ant.
Grady and Pete doing some good work this year.

Minott is very raw but he is starting to make me a believer. Seeing a younger, skinnier Aaron Gordon out there.
Will be huge if Nowell can keep shooting it like that.

This was pretty much Utah's team going forward, and it didn't look great.
They have a lot of offensive firepower, but there is a big defense and leadership gap too.
Kessler is solid, but he can't defend all 5 positions. They are going to miss Conley and Vando.

The crew showed a replay of Garza hustling back and without missing a beat - seconds before a commercial break began - Grady commented, "WHAT'S HIS 40?"

That's a little more inventive than 90% of the rest of the league's broadcast teams which would have found it sufficient to say something along the lines of, "Wolves lead, time out is called, we'll be right back."

Grady's "40" comment reminded me of the guys on TNT.

The difference between being a serviceable announcer and being a great announcer is not falling into routine - not saying the same things every broadcast, game in and game out. Mixing it up, keeping it interesting while infusing personality and genuine HUMOR into your presentation.

At first I wasn't sure because I missed Benz (and Grady was finding his sea legs) but wow, Grady is the real thing. Let's enjoy his announcing while he's here because I have a feeling he's on to bigger things after this just like another Wolves play-by-play guy, Kevin Harlan.

In my view, no team's NBA broadcast tandem comes close to Grady/Petersen.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
