Looks like he has hit the wall.

Anthony Edwards clearly needed to sit out some games to get some rest, but didn’t. While the “play every game” mentality is cool and all, it’s starting to hurt Mimesis down-the-stretch here.

My hope is that Karl-Anthony Towns coming back substantially eases his offensive burden so he isn’t as overworked.

That lac of another consistent offensive threat is the problem to me.

I wasn't Russell's biggest fan by any stretch but he was providing that second option with KAT out. Now that he's gone it's petty much just Ant.

To make things worse Nowell has been underperforming (and missed last games). Nowell was supposed to be scorer from bench, who could share offensive load with Edwards.

I think unless Nowell is absolutely on fire that NAW gives more positive minutes, even if he isn't as much of a scorer. His active defense, willingness to make the right pass, and ability to knock down a timely 3 has been refreshing. The Wolves won that trade big time.

Yes, if Towns comes back we can surround him with defensive minded players such as NAW, Anderson, MCD. But without Towns I don't see how we can compete this year against all these top offenses such as DEN, SAC, GSW, DAL. I wish McLaughlin can hit open 3s. He has been missing everything this season, he hits only 22% 3pt shots. I am big fan of this guy, but he has been struggling mightly.

I mean, what you say makes sense. Without KAT this team can't compete offensively with these teams... but if they can play scrappy defense, they can at least give themselves a chance.

Really excited to see what this squad can do with KAT back and playing like he's capable. It's actually pretty damn impressive how they've started to pull things together without their best player (yes, Ant is staking his claim, but KAT is still a 20/10 machine when healthy).
