KAT will get you plenty of assets (picks) and at least one good starter level player who can stay healthy, makes shots, and play decent enough defense. Rudy may be harder, but some team always thinks they can make a talent like Rudy work. Won’t ever get what you paid back, but you wouldn’t for a car off the lot either (well, ok, maybe these days you would.

Conley fit fine enough with DM. Kyle fits on any team.
Jaden, may actually never get my much better, it’s a gamble, he may though be the perfect piece to draw in a high level player, ala Bridges getting Durant.

Yeah, I meant like actually break it down. This all sounds great in theory.

Executing real trades that put us in a position to succeed? Incredibly difficult.

Also Conley is 36 and is pretty passive in attacking the rim. Also just because a player can coexist doesn't mean they fit together.

Sure Kyle fits, kind of. He's a glue guy, he'd fit on any team like you said, doesn't mean he's the guy you need. We need him rn, but with a new core? Who knows.

Ant is our guy for the next decade hopefully, but we're putting way too much emphasis on him when we have other players we have kept around or acquired none of which were taken with Ant as the cornerstone of this franchise.

It's not like we built around Ant, if we did then yes we should be relying on him.

Right now Ant is bailing us out. If we are gonna rely this much on him, give him some ***** help. Cause right now this team is constructed like **** for him.

KAT is who these roster moves were made for, not Ant.

So yes KAT is who should be our offense night in night out. Our coach just hasnt done anything to help him. At the same time 11 pts is pretty pathetic.

I get what you're saying. But I think we need to remind ourselves that it takes awhile to build a contender.

Dd Michael Jordan immediately turn the Chicago Bulls into a contender? They were first round exits for three straight years before a second round trip and two ECFs.
Did Kobe Bryant immediately turn the Los Angeles Lakers into a contender? It took him four unsuccessful playoff runs before reaching the Finals (and he had Shaquille O'Neal for two of those years).
Did LeBron James immediately turn the Cleveland Cavaliers into a contender? They missed the playoffs twice before a ECF trip and making it to the Finals in Year 4 (and didn't make it back in first Cleveland).

Building a contender is hard. Building a contender takes time. What's important right now is the valuable experience that he's getting even in these playoff struggles.

Should the Bulls have ran everything through Orlando Woolridge? Should the Cavaliers have ran everything through Zydrunas Ilgauskas? Should the Lakers have ran everything through Eddie Jones? They all predated the young guys in their situations just like Karl-Anthony Towns here. Why hand the keys of the car over to the young guy when the roster wasn't built around him?

I've always viewed building up the franchise as a multiple step process. It would be foolish to think that the Gobert trade was the only move needed in order to win an NBA Championship.

The important thing the trade did was get the franchise to where we are in the playoff race on a yearly basis. Again, this year was absolute worst-case scenario and we got into the playoffs. That's huge for all of the young guys. It might not pay full dividends this year, and maybe not next year, but I believe it will at some point.

Look at the trade Sacramento made last year? Did it immediately vault them to a title last year? They closed out the year 9-16 after the trade. Was trading away Tyrese Haliburton a failure? Immediate returns weren't great for them.

Same reason why I like to see how Twin towers play out next year. If Ant can continue to growth to be a smarter team player. May be add one more complementary piece. However, we got to do something about the standing around 5 out set. It can't be one dimensional where the guy has the ball either shoot a force 3 or drive into double teams.

I don't think this as a positive thing:

I will say, I haven't decided if I like or not the fact that it's a bit of a running joke for the team's leader.

If they make fun of it and laugh at themselves, it loses it's power. If they try to treat it as a big issue (like the media wanted it to be) it would be.

Finch is smart, he's deflating it's power (and beating the jokes from the media... to the punch  ).
