Really struggling to see what the plan is in DC.

Taking on Poole's hideous contract ($128M through the 2026-27 season).

Is it too soon to say Winger is already worse than Kahn?

I like what DC has done. Beal isn't special and as bad as Poole's contract is, Beal's is significantly worse without being a much better player. They're getting some picks stashed even if they are just swaps and protected but they didn't really have any valuable assets since Porzingis could just opt-out and leave.

They are doing a horrible job of getting assets lol, 2030 pick is lotto protected? They are betting on Poole getting back to his fluke playoff run in 2022, but it just won’t happen.

Washington has flat out said that their goal for the next few years is to acquire assets, young players and draft picks, by taking on bad contracts. I thought they’d get more in each of their deals but they are doing what they said. They have no interest in winning for the next 3-4 years, next year is a bad one to begin the tank though.

You forgot the part where you cheat to find out who's clearly the best players in the draft

That's true, I do have the greatest scouts of all time who can tell me a number that is almost exactly how good players are at any given basketball skill. It's a big advantage. I also get to the point where I have so many picks, I am basically running the draft and any team who wants to get a pick has to deal through me. Oh you want the 5th pick in this 2023 draft? Give me two future firsts. By year 5 I own the picks for half the damn first round lol.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.

Beyond the 2030 Golden State First Round Pick being over protected, this is clearly killer value for the Washington Wizards.

My hot take is that this is honestly solid value for the Washington Wizards.

Incoming:
Jordan Poole
Landry Shamet
Ryan Rollins
Four Phoenix First Round Pick Swaps (2024, 2026, 2028*, and 2030)
Six Phoenix Second Round Picks (2024-2028 and 2030)
2027 Golden State Second Round Pick
2030 Golden State First Round Pick (Top 20 Protected)

*Worse of Phoenix and Brooklyn FRP.

Outgoing:
Bradley Beal
Jordan Goodwin
Isaiah Todd

My only gripe is that the value for taking on Jordan Poole is pretty awful, but the bones of the Bradley Beal trade is good.

It's 100% reliant on Phoenix bottoming out.

Wizards rebuild will be LONG, those swaps will be pretty much useless

None of those swaps could convey, and it is still solid value for a fringe All-Star on a Super-Max contract who has a No-Trade Clause. Having the potentiality for an unprotected swap hitting is great.
