You come to our own forum hoping there's a more positive vibe from Wolves fans. Nope...not really happening with the exception of a few that prefer a positive approach.
If we end up trading KAT for cap relief and crappy future picks as some on here are pining for, they'll be the same "fans" blasting the team for trading him when he excels with his new team.
Take a break and toilet paper battletrigger's house.
That’s a false narrative based on emotion and assumptions.
I’m sure some some crappy trade ideas have been floated but let’s keep it real. Most **** trade ideas are asked as questions not because they would absolutely make that trade.
The majority of KAT traders want future capital (which can be traded later for high impact players, you don’t actually have to use the draft picks as draft picks) and starting level NBA talent.
It’s a disservice to the forum itself if discussions can’t be had. To believe your opinion is the master opinion and the only one that’s allowed or it’s “negative” talk is absurd.
I never shied away from, or discouraged, discussion on this board nor have I ever stated my opinions were superior to others but I'm not afraid to differ, either.
The only prevalent opinion expressed recently on this board by many is that the ONLY course of action is to trade KAT. Now that's the epitome of absurd.
I would would disagree with this.
It misses a few points.
Most wanted KAT traded before the season because it’s easier to trade a 35ish salary than a 60+.
He’s been injured more than not the last 4 seasons.
Has shown maturity issues and, recently, fit issues.
It’s not the only course of action. That’s an egomaniacal way of thinking of anyone thinks that.
Hell, it’s not our money, it’s not really “our” team. We’re just the fans of it.
Sometimes the only way I can get over a loss is to tell myself “I don’t write the checks”.
I would say the majority of trade KAT is…
We should trade KAT before next season because 35m is easier to trade than 60m AND, he’s been injured A LOT the last 4 years. We can not afford to have a 60m player get injured. It does a couple things.
If he gets injured, trade value down, team worse, “experiment” not doable/failed. But if the experiment failed then trade necessary, but trade value down, and we keep circling.
If he doesn’t get injured AND we are playing well AND ownership decides he’ll be too expensive next season. Sure, trade value up, but playing well, can’t mess with chemistry, but too expensive, and we keep circling.
The ONLY way it works to keep him, is to keep him AND either ownership decides to pay what it cost to keep the team together OR Rudy goes.
The problem is, we’re really good on defense when Rudy plays. And…TC seems to be extremely keen on making defense a huge priority. I won’t pretend to know where they go with all this but signs point to KAT being the odd man out.
But, is that the only course of action. Of course not. It’s not our money.
If he’s not traded. I guarantee you that most of us will cheer him and the team on and wish them the best.
There will be games we shout “trade KAT”, “fire Finch”, “trade Rudy”. But those sentiments are made with the teams best interest in mind, not to tear down said trade or fire X person.
If we can’t observe and make critical remarks. Then we should pack up this forum and make a new one call CheerleaderSPORTS.
For heaven sakes, some of us bemoaned DLo since day 1. Were we wrong? No. We’d be happy to have been wrong though. It would be great if DLo turned out to be an average defender who could shoot consistently and pass like a pg game in and game out. Now, I’d be willing to bet most here are now happy he’s gone. But we still cheered for our team and every game we wished DLo and the team their best. We expected a lot from a max player in DLo, we expect it from KAT, from Rudy, and soon, ant. You get the big bucks because you are expected to be available and be productive. Big paychecks come with big criticism of performance and availability and if itdoesn’t match the number on the check be ready for that criticism.
If some are too much into their own ideas and thoughts that they can’t put that aside and just cheer on their team. Then I would agree with urinesane. If being a fan comes with caveats, then it best be better to find another passion. Alas, most of us are just fans and some of just have different ideas on how to improve the team (that’s why it’s called RealGM). Unfortunately this current state of society doesn’t do well with opposing views and discussion.
Sometimes that means letting the other side know you understand where they are coming from and then giving counter points to their arguments. And then we can have a back and forth conversation where ultimately we come to understand both sides.
Because… just by talking you you now I can see that a lot of the “negative” feeling urinesane was feeling was real, kind of. It’s negative if you assume to think any of us would a) be a fan and at the same time b) want to do something to make the team worse.
That’s seems rather illogical. So maybe, let’s get out of our feelings and try to think logically and critically about what people have to say. (Not saying you don’t, just talking about the board in general)
