There seems to be some disconnect. I will not talk for anyone else...but I do not WANT to trade KAT. I've enjoyed watching him play since he was a rookie. His improved defense is awesome. I will cheer for him as long as he is a Timberwolf. It is about being realistic and understanding it might HAVE to happen - and if it HAS to happen, when is the best time to do it and what is the best trade to get back. What is best for the team's future hinges largely on what we do with KAT. Some of you pretend like money is no issue, but it will be very soon.
The point of the message is you keep Gobert + Towns + Ant + Naz + JMcD and build around them with whatever salary that is left. Those 5 have a total salary around 174M. The 2nd apron is appx 200M. So, use the remaining 26M to sign whoever that is needed. Ideally, we keep Conley and KA. You won't trade Ant for Cason Wallance and Ty Ty Washington + 5 picks. For the same reason, we don't trade Towns for that same package. I think 26M to fill out the remaining roster is very doable. For reference, Westbrook and Dario are minimal salary guys.
