I don't believe it'll affect them but could be something to monitor if chemistry appears to go south.

Gobert would be a pea brain if that is his thinking.

Klay started the jersey pull. Jaden got him back - they Texas two stepped around mid court but then…

Gobert head locked Klay (more of a pull him off from the neck region), BUT thug Green saw it as a head lock and in turn head locked Gobert. Towns and Edwards pulled on Green with Towns “head locking” Green (more of a pull off Gobert).

How far does the head-pull-lock train need to go? Should a GSW player head locked Towns to get off Green?

Gobert will be fine. Everyone played their tough guy role just right.

The weakness in this type of thinking. Everyone says things like that until they get punched.I highly doubt anyone in here would let a 6'8" strong athlete rear-choke them with gritted teeth and drag them much less do it in a playful way. Seeing another grown man choke and then drag a buddy of mine would mean them getting punched if they don't let go after a couple of seconds, damn the repercussions. Did he need help? maybe not, but it's always good knowing that your bro has your back. The worst response from Rudy is saying he had it but he would appreciate the effort and know that he has his back.

Well that wasn’t out in the streets this was during an nba game. They want to win games and you can’t do that when you get suspended. The wolves are serious now.

This is all fake fighting. It’s the, “Hold me back, or I will beat him up.” They all know people are breaking it up and they won’t throw down until some goes down (and out).

If they were real tough guys, meet at a time and place, fight until a winner. Green wouldn’t last 2 seconds against a real fighter. Fake NBA tough guy.

Rudy has never been shy about sharing his opinions- towards his teammates or otherwise. If Rudy has a problem with his teammates "not helping" he'll say so.

That being said, I don't think Rudy has any issues with his teammates. Mike was busy with Jaden, and Kat and Ant where over helping with Draymond. I guarantee Rudy gets more satisfaction by Draymond being so over the top while he and his teammates didn't take his bait. It made Draymond look even worse- Draymond and Rudy have always disliked each other. Strongly.

If Rudy thinks his teammates should start throwing punches he's an idiot. If his teammates don't respect what Rudy is doing for the team, then they are idiots. Fortunately, none of them are idiots. The narrative that nobody cared about Rudy get choked and that the team hates Rudy, or that they should start punching things out is ridiculous.

I've seen when players don't like Rudy (the last season with Mitchell) and no one is treating him that way.

Anyway, really loving your team. I'm super excited for you guys. I've been enjoying their season so far (not the Hawks game though). I have been very impressed with KAT defensively. He's really started looking good on offense lately too. KAT, Ant, and Rudy are looking like a really solid big 3.

Rudy himself said he was trying to diffuse the situation. Why on earth would he be mad at teammates for choosing not to escalate the situation?! Only someone with a clear agenda would hold an opinion like that.

Whenever I see pro athletes fighting each other, I think, man these millionaires don't like each other for some reason.

Fortunately, I am confident that he does not care and just wants to win basketball games.

IMO Rudy showed amazing restraint, just letting Dray do this thing. Dray has to be suspended for a while. I'm guessing between 2-5 games.

I called it sort of. I'm glad he got the high end of my prediction.

Idk what the right amount should’ve been but it seems like a slap on the wrist and vacation to me. Considering his history. He won’t learn

Rudy is going to fight the fine

"Every situation is different, but to me, that was more than just a reaction. That was a personal attack," Gobert said. "Me being fined when I was being a peacemaker, and I chose to keep my hands up while I was being assaulted, it's shameful. Shameful. And I'm going to appeal that fine."

I discussed this a lot on the general board yesterday, and while Rudy’s intention was just to break up the fight, he should have put his hands on Jaden and not Klay. The contact wasn’t dangerous or malicious, and certainly not “He had Klay in a headlock!” which Kerr and the Warriors announcers were saying. Gobert’s intent was to calm things down, but I don’t mind a slight fine for doing it that way.

Dray should have been suspended longer imo, for dragging a 260 pound man backwards off his feet, in a choke hold. That’s unbelievably dangerous. But I was also frustrated Klay’s fine was the same as Rudy’s, when Klay instigated the whole thing, grabbing Jaden’s uniform at the neck, and refusing to release it after th play and even all the way back over half court!

Look for 1/22/2024 to 2/6/2024. If everyone is healthy and we have a good backup PG. That could be a 12 game winning streak. If we get the 11-5 start and run that streak, we should be set as a top 4 team.

Interesting point I heard today on a podcast....Draymond Green loses some $770K in game checks, which means Golden State saves $2.5 million in luxury tax payments because of this suspension.

If that's the way it works it is really messed up. A player being suspended without pay should not benefit the teams cap.

So I did my own research, and it's not a 1:1 in terms of game checks to luxury tax savings. Half of Green's normal game checks during the suspension still apply to the luxury tax calculation, to my understanding.

For certain purposes, 50% of salary not paid to players who were suspended by the league is excluded. For example, if a player with a $10 million salary is suspended by the league for exactly half the season, then he loses $5 million, and 50% of this amount, or $2.5 million, is excluded from certain calculations including escrow and luxury tax.
