Re: Around the NBA
Barring big injuries, I expect next season to be a blood bath in West, with a few young teams rising:
MEM: JJJ+Smart+Ja+Bane, plus young dogs Vince Williams, GG Jackson
OKC: same core Chet+J.Williams+SGA
DAL: same core Doncic+Irving, plus Lively+Gafford+PJ Washington
HOU: same core Sengun+FVV+Green+Brooks, plus young dogs Eason, Whitmore, Smith
MEM: JJJ+Smart+Ja+Bane, plus young dogs Vince Williams, GG Jackson
OKC: same core Chet+J.Williams+SGA
DAL: same core Doncic+Irving, plus Lively+Gafford+PJ Washington
HOU: same core Sengun+FVV+Green+Brooks, plus young dogs Eason, Whitmore, Smith

Domejandro or any other mods. Don't know why it works this thread, maybe temporarily. But almost 99% of realGM threads here and general board, both logged in and logged out, it tells me "you not authorised to read this forum". Super bizzare bug. I have no idea what to do about this.

Have the same issue and have already complained about it. Seems to be totally random upon clicking a link into the forum, if you click into the thread again (or refresh), sometimes it just works. This includes making posts and editing posts, just a terrible bug.

Re: Around the NBA
Its really weird, it's only this thread and a kyrie thread I just posted in GB that works. And even that kyrie thread I could only briefly see OP post, of the 5 pages I can only read the past page with its 2 posts. Everything else is unauthorised.
I knew this forum had its server or loading issues lately but this really bizzare bug.

Don't forget the lottery picks that each of those teams has except DAL.
Spurs will likely also get better.
The only team that will likely be tanking is Portland, perhaps Utah.
GS is likely looking to reload, as are the Lakers, and NO.
It's a 13 way fight next year every game is going to matter. We're really counting on stability and growth this year.

Huh? Lottery picks rarely have positive impact on winning in Year 1.
I largely agree with everyyhing else you said. I think the Spurs could be a Top 6 team in the West with middling additions and Wemby becoming a Top 5-ish player.

Yes, he plays way smarter defense than our guys. We could had drafted him instead of Jonny Flynn and he was taken right before we took Lawson (traded to DEN). I feel like our guys run around a lot but not doing it the better way. Maybe more experience or more darkness retreat will help.

Trades. And these are unique situations. When does a number 1 seed have a lottery pick. And the previous years number 2 seed.
Those draft picks could be immediate contributors if they aren't projects or if they are traded for experienced players.

I notice one team conspicuously missing from that list...

That one team was the easiest to clog the paint against. Also, that one team has possibly the least forward thinking coaching staff and lineup in the western playoffs.

Re: Around the NBA
Now the Finals is essentially final. I can't wait to see what draft day big trades are coming up. We had KLove and Butler in the past. Let's see if Connelly could put another rabbit (or skunk) out of his hat to improve the team. Anyone hear other major draft day trades?

Re: Around the NBA
Who is the next Western team to blow it up and go for the tank and follow in the steps of San Antonio, Utah and Portland?
Maybe, Golden State as it looks like Klay is gone and Steph and Dray are old and injury prone. If Golden State is out of the playoff hunt by February, does Steph Curry go on the block and what team is best positioned to trade for him? OKC could offer a lot of draft picks and I'm not sure if there is another contending team that has a surplus of draft capital to trade. Maybe the Knicks but most their first rounders are lottery protected.

The Knicks aren't in the West, buddy....

As of now we are 3rd on odds to win it all next year (Celtics and Nuggets).
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

Re: Around the NBA
I wonder why Sam Cassell doesn't seem to get any head coaching buzz. He has been an assistant getting experience on good teams for several years, yet I always see some guy with little to zero experience getting their name tossed around every off-season.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.
