Heroes 3 is amazing. But the King’s bounty series is better. They took the best of heroes, added a ton of RPG elements, and made a super game, then 5 sequels. Start with King’s bounty the legend, it will change your world.

Yes, those were good too. I also played most of them.

Did you play the legend of heroes? Also known as trails of series?

No, haven't tried that one. Will look into it.

As an original writer for Game Informer Magazine and a person who worked in the Video Game industry for 13 years strangely I never liked sports video games. The best two games ever at the time of my retirement were FFVII and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

FFVII is one of the greatest of all time. I am waiting for this winter to start playing the remake. Also wants to get into KOTOR at some point.

There are lots of games that use The Old Republic in there name. Try to make sure you get the original. It's terribly outdated by now, but the story line might be the best ever in a video game.

Star Wars: Outlaws - First of all, it needs to be said that I am a massive Star Wars fan so anything within that realm, and I'll probably enjoy it to a certain degree.

That said, it's a great game with some very obvious flaws. It's no RDR2 and the comparisons I've seen online between the 2 are comparing apples and locomotives.

The graphics (even cut scenes) are pretty bad in places, and the NPC's aren't coded brilliantly, but the game mechanics are fun as f**k to play. Using your pet for a lot of tasks adds another dimension to the game and the main and faction storylines are engaging.

Main storyline is pretty short, completing it in approx. 22hrs but there are a lot of side activities to keep you going.

All in all, I love it. It's a fun game with bunch of easter eggs to find if you're a Star Wars nerd like me.

Also, had a slight windfall so splurged on some games I wanted.

Currently playing through:

Star Wars: Outlaws
Quidditch Champions
NBA2K25

Anyone here tried Age of Mythology: Retold? Review wasn't great. How is it compare to Age of Empires 4? My favorite is still Raise of Nations.

2K25 - Been a bit of slog getting used to the shot mechanics on this one - Thought I was REALLY bad at this game for a minute... Getting there now though and loving it.

Black Myth Wukong - GREAT game - Bloody hard though

hi i haven't bought it yet, so just curious are the shot mechanics hard to get used to even if you choose "Real Shooting %" instead of "Shot Timing"?
because in nba2k24 i always use Real Shooting %.

I think it's the same learning curve either way to be honest - I've played around a bit and found my rhythm - Took a bit in MyCourt but once you get it it's actually quite smooth

Also, welcome to the boards :) (being your first post and all)

KOTOR was the GOAT. Graphics and gameplay are incredibly dated now, but man that story.
I played the crap out of that, and even tried to play again with my old cd-roms a few years ago only to realize its so old modern hardware won''t play it. I think you can still find it on Steam though.

KOTOR II had the makings of a great game too if they hadn't rushed it out and shipped a game that was half completed.
I played a restored content mod of it many years ago that made the game a lot better.

Star Wars the Old Republic (https://www.swtor.com/), a MMO which launched in 2011 and is still running, acts as kind of a KOTOR III, particularly the jedi knight story. It's a shared universe and is set 300 years after KOTOR II.
There are 8 original class stories to play which are well worth the time if you like that kind of game.
The game is kind of the dollar store version of a MMO as far as offering new content, and is in quasi-maintenance mode at the moment, but it's completely free to play if you don't mind a few restrictions.

You still have the button shooting option - Personally I prefer the right stick (just gotten used to it after so long)

Yep that KOTOR story line is the best ever in a video game. I tried KOTOR II and got stuck in a spot, but it seemed decent. I played The Old Republic, but IIRC they completely reworked the mechanics and IMO ruined it. It's possibly I'm thinking of the wrong game. Maybe I'm thinking of Galaxies. Yeah it was Galaxies. The Old Republic is pretty good.

Anyone tried Age of Mythology: Retold yet? How is it? It's still pre-season and lots of time for gaming.
