The Lynx were robbed but if Williams doesn’t suck ass with her hero ball or Reeve called a better play at end of regulation it wouldn’t have mattered.

I'll repeat what I put in the WNBA forum thread. The refs were hella suspect but the Lynx scored 2points in 5 minutes of overtime, Phee fouled out legitimately, Courtney Williams was awful, they had no answer for Jonquel Jones, scoring off the bench was non existent and Phee still had a chance to ice the game at the end and missed a gimme lay up. Thats really why the Lynx lost.
They're not Democrats. They don't want you to agree with them. They want to force you to pretend to agree with them.

That's communism.

The Lynx looked exhausted at the end. Reeve had shortened the rotation so much. Not that it was necessarily the wrong decision, but it looked like they ran out of gas.

I don’t give a 5h!t … I don’t give 2 5h!ts

Classless for a coach to be so unaccountable and classless after they were gifted the previous game

The Lynx were 100% robbed. Personally, I think that they also threw the game with poor play, but super upsetting to watch that officiating. Just a really bad look for the league.

I'm not going to come out here and say the refs weren't bad. My way, however, is to never blame it all on the refs. The Lynx still had ample opportunity to win that game. The Liberty were not playing well, but they were giving them chance after chance, and the Lynx could not capitalize. They probably got robbed, and that's wrong, but the Lynx left their front door and windows open while putting a huge sign in front of their house saying "On Vacation."
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.

This diminished a little of my excitement for opening day.

I get frustrated that the results of NBA games are often dictated by the officials making calls on a few key plays. I’m not interested in gymnastics, skating or diving because they are based on judges interpretations, and I like my sports with discrete numbers. I understand that basketball is hard to officiate, with its high speeds and terrific athleticism.

I disagreed with the call at the end of the fourth, but I can understand how an official could make it. However, the results change history. Stewie goes from being a bum, to being a queen. Not for her play, but because of the discretion of a referee. It’s a fact now that questionable officiating is going to be a big part of my favorite sports, and it’s frustrating.

When I coach, I tell athletes not to be crying to the ref. If you let a few bad calls determine the outcome of the game, you should have tried to do more, so those calls wouldn’t matter. Both these teams deserved to lose last night, and it was bad for the WNBA that should be springboarding off Caitlyn Clark’s popularity.

Game 5’s numbers aren’t out yet, but the first three Games, viewership was between 1.1-1.3 million, which is about double over last year. However, even these numbers are only 40% of Clark’s first round Game 2 (2.5 mil), and less than 10% of April’s NCAA Women’s Finals with Clark (18 mil, peaking at 24). Doubling viewership for the WNBA Finals in one year is certainly buoyed by all the new fans Clark brought to the sport, but this game definitely laid an egg on its biggest stage.

Overall, Cheryl Reeves had a great season, getting the most out of a Lynx team with less talent than her competition. However, if she is going to add unnecessary, bitter hashtags to her tweets like "#theWismorethanoneplayer" and "#12teams,” then she has to demonstrate that. She really let the fans down last night with that type of team performance for the critical final game of the WNBA playoffs.

She let them down by bricking 3s and not calling fouls on Liberty players?
