If I am Finch I give Randle 3 games to step up his defense with 2 extra grace games if the effort shows up. After that I send him home, put Minott behind Reed, and never allow Randle to come back to the team.

And that's one reason why you will never be an NBA head coach

Just my 2 cents, but despite KAT playing well at knicks, they are 5-5 overall...

Yeah, because coaches holding players accountable for not playing defense and poisoning the defensive culture that they spent years building is never a good idea.

One thing that I would keep eye on, is that while Gobert played this b2b, I'd probably rest him. Rudy is 32yo, he has 3 seasons left in contract. It means that either TC finds a low profile backup big that can handle some defensive duties, or prepare for smallball lineups.

I think that Minnesota should try starting Donte DiVencenzo. He is in a brutal slump and the team looks like it needs a shakeup.

Good idea on my opinion. Will be a good shake up and also could help Mike to wake up as well.

For Randle, i am on the way to give up! i know it's only 12 games but i am so annoyed to see him playing pretty well offensively and playing no defense.

I’d like to see extended minutes of:

NAW
Ant
McDaniels
Naz
Rudy

I think this could be our best defensive lineup and would bring great energy. And I’d like to push the development of these young vets. If Ant is going to be a true MVP level player he needs to develop the skills to be the primary initiator and creator of the offense. I want NAW pushed to develop his PG skills, and I want Naz and Jaden given as much usage as possible on offense to see their ceilings. Then we need a legit 4/5 off the bench who can play with either Naz or Rudy.

I think the Wolves need to look at the roles of the guys getting minutes and make some real adjustments.

- NAW should fill the same role he had last season (which he is really good at). Trying to get PG type play out of him is a mistake.

- Dante should stick to being a movement shooter (think of the Beasley role). Trying to get off the dribble shot creation from him of him isn't working.

- Naz should not have a regular role as a center, he doesn't have the rebounding or paint protection skills to be successful. Getting him back to being a PF would make a huge difference. Unfortunately there is no other real option for center minutes when Rudy sits.

- Jaden needs to be more of a cutter/driver on offense rather than a spot up shooter.

- Julius needs to make a commitment to giving consistent effort on defense. If not, I'd cut back his minutes and see if that motivates him.

My ideal situation:
NAW, Ant, Jaden, Naz, and Rudy start.
Mike, DD, and Randle off bench.
More minutes for RD.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

Absolutely sit Randle. Maybe we are just doing the DLo show right now to make Randle more marketable.

I prefer Mike to start because we don't have enough play making with Ant+NAW. Maybe even start DDV to run pick and roll with Gobert.

I like it, but I think you need to play Rudy with Mike, since he’s the guy who knows how to feed him. Also, Mike is worse defensiveky than NAW or probably DDV, so keeping him on the floor with Gobert helps.

I think if Ant and Randle got the flu we would play better and win more games while they are out then when they are healthy. Ant might score more, but he wins less. I would try DNPCDing him and Randle for a game and seeing if maybe that sends them a message about getting back to the culture of winning.

You might be right. Then again, last night wasn’t the first time the team played better late without Ant and Randle. Now ask yourself a simple question, if Jaden, Rudy, Naz, and DDV could all play as well or better as last year without Ant or Randle, what does that say about Ant, Randle, and Finch?
