Just finished the 2nd quarter. Again not perfect, but love the energy and contest level. Guys are trusting the plan and then trusting each other. Ant is having a bad half and we are dominating anyway. Minott with some great minutes. I am a little concerned about DDV being angry and yelling at his teammates, but hopefully that will pass. I don’t even care about the score, just love to the see the ball moving on offense and the defense rotating/guys playing for each other.

When you hold a team to 50 points in their build through 3 that is just FILTHY :). I am loving so much about our performance. I get that they played yesterday, are missing guys, ect… End of the day we are too good to play as bad as we were. When you do the right things (moving the ball, gang rebounding, rotating on defense,) the winning takes care of itself.

I just want this team to go on 15-16 game winning streak, get back to top 3.

For anyone else who has a DVR, if you go to 2:11:22 on the recording, Donte looks so sad and angry, and everyone else is all smiles and happy. A couple of times in the game I saw DDV yelling at teammates, and looking pissed. Is this something to worry about?

Good to see Minott have success tonight. This game should have been a blowout win and was. I don’t care one bit about the score compared to all the things we did right.
Very encouraging to see multiple games in a row. Fun night to be a Wolves fan.

Last 3 games definitely convince me about one thing. If this team want it, they can. Talent is here, they are smart players there, a good floor general. Just as soon as they forget the basic, they struggle. But when they really play as a team, we can beat any other NBA team. I'm not overexcited , need confirmation but it's really encouraging.

We have one of the best supporting casts in the NBA. NAW is probably all NBA defense worthy if he plays enough minutes per game to qualify. Naz was 6th man of the year for a reason. DDV showed a lot of game last year on both sides of the ball. The five young dudes (Minott, Dilly, Shannon, Miller, and Clark,) probably can provide decent minutes in the right situations or accounting for injures. Meanwhile Rudy is still Rudy, and Mike not be last years Mike but he isn’t washed either. Jaden has ups and downs, but don’t ever lose sight of his playoff performances last season. He is the X factor that coaches need to get going. The questions about this team are at the top, and that is something that as you said is a Want To issue more than anything.

Wasn’t perfect, but doesn’t need to be. Just solid effort on both sides of the ball, and the rest takes care of itself usually.

I appreciate your newfound positivity! Welcome to the club!

I never left the club, the play was just that bad in other games. We have proven when the stakes are high and the opponents are exhausted and injured (both times we were well rested against teams on back end of back to backs while missing multiple starters,) that we can play actual basketball. Now we need to see it against NBA level competition.

Missed most of the 2nd half but good to see them string together a couple of dominant wins. We'll see if they can continue to build on this.

We’ve also proven that we’ll play down to the competition. To see them come out and annihilate a decimated Clipper lineup is exactly what they should be doing and it was great to see them playing up to their level of talent and not down to LA’s.

Well said. I'm not discounting these wins because they were undermanned, because we've played undermanned teams and lost or just squeaked by. That's why I'm confident there has been a corner turned.

I am withholding judgment one way or the other. I have seen us at our best, and our worst. The only way to turn the corner is to consistently put forth effort toward the former and not the latter. Effort is at the end of the day what we are talking about. When they come out with energy and put forth max effort we should win 75% of our games just off of talent. When we don’t, we might only win 25% for the same reason. We are too good to play that bad, unless of course we want to, or simply don’t want to give real effort and energy.

The effort, energy, and attitude in this win were terrific.
Particularly from the bench of Naz, NAW, and Donte.
Our defense seems to live or die by how aggressive Rudy is on any given night, and tonight we got the DPOY difference maker version of Rudy.
When he has trouble against traditional bigs like Poeltl and Zubac, it's usually because he's too passive and not trusting of his teammates to help so he doesn't take any chances. And he flipped the script on that tonight.

Keep that up the rest of the season and we might be able to make the playoffs.

But whoa boy the Clippers were BAAAAAAAAAAAD and so were the Lakers the other night, both coming off back to backs with aging stars and injured guys sitting out..

Our offense still leaves a lot to be desired and honestly still looks pretty damn broken.
Julius Randle sucks up a lot of oxygen on that end of the court and isn't 50% as talented as KAT was.
The ceiling of this team going forward is sadly just going to be quite a bit lower.

We can't get too excited yet. Rudy has done this before, where he is just so freaking dominant certain games that he could be considered an mvp candidate.. he will calm down, but great player.

My concern going forward remains backup center.

2nd main concern: Randle, ddv, and ant (i said it) have egos of a nature that may cause the implosion of a team playing the style of basketball we have played the last 2 games.

You made a point. Last 3 games, we have seen a team playing as a team and this make ANT, Randle less important. Are they willing to accept to have some nights where they may play less, score less? Time will tell.
