Newton might get NBA’s sooner than you think. I just saw this on hoopshype. If Mike is injured or needs rest, I expect Newton to get called up.

“Michael Scotto: The Minnesota Timberwolves guard Rob Dillingham suffered a Grade 2 right lateral ankle sprain. His return to play timeline is 1-2 weeks. He will be re-evaluated in one week, team says. 16 hours ago – via Twitter MikeAScotto”

Copied from hoopshype.

Probably won't amount to much, but it's interesting.

It seems like other teams have been finding plenty of diamonds in the rough.

Wolves would seem to have to hit on at least one and maybe two of Dilly, TSJ, Newton, and Miller, at least.

Be nice.

He looks like a little better defending and passing, but worse shooting DLo.

Naz was a diamond. Jaden for his draft position was. Finch found NAW. Minott is looking like a player, though he needs a lot more minutes till we will truly know.

For sure Naz was a diamond but that was Rosa. We’ll see on Minott. (Jaden is not a diamond. Not yet. Not at 30 million for 31% from deep.)

Jaden is also a Rosas draft pick.

You said Wolves not TC. But you are correct that TC has none yet, with Minott as a possibility. Also Jaden is a 2nd team all NBA defender and the main reason we made it to the WCF. That feels like a win so far. Finally, he is 23 this year. I get you wanting to use the average but that is deceptive. The cap is going to be way higher by the time he is even close to 30.

Sure hope not.

Well, if Tristen is another Shake Milton it is already not bad for late 2nd round pick

Do we lose our pick because we took him off of waivers? Or are you saying if he develops into Nowell or Shake then it is good value for a late 2nd?

I'd say that a late 2nd round pick who can play as 8th-9th man in rotation is a good result for development system.

Point in his favor: Knows how to take advantage of his 7-footer big man

Fun fact: Newton is 3.5 months older than Anthony Edwards.
