I am a bit behind but want to point this out. @Shrink this is very much directed to you.
The Wolves began the 2nd quarter with a 28-22 lead. They spent the next 3 minutes giving up a 12-2 run. It almost was a 15-2 run with the hot hand missing a wide open transition 3. The clock now reads 8:30 in the 2nd, and Finch still has not called timeout. That is NOT GOOD GAME MANAGEMENT!

Literally right after unpausing we score 5 straight and Willie Green calls timeout. Maybe he is on to something

If we never traded for Gobert? The landscape of the NBA would be a bit different. Cleveland might not have Mitchell. But that's a digression.
We wouldn't have made the playoffs the summer after we traded for Gobert. We'd probably would have been the 7th through 12th pick in the 2023 draft. So we'd have one of Colulibaly, Cason Wallace, or Lively Jr. We'd have a cheap back up in Kessler as well.
We probably would have done slightly better the year after with Towns back, and made the first round probably get swept by Denver. We'd draft somewhere in the middle (15-20) and have one of Jared McCain or Dalton Knecht.
Just from not trading for Gobert we'd have backups in Kessler, Cason Wallace, and Dalton Knecht. Obviously no Conley or to much chagrin, NAW.
With the ability to have traded D'Angelo for someone and gotten a decent backup center or backup PF I think we could have traded for someone like Kyle Kuzma.
We'd still be missing a PG. But all things equal and if you asked me would I rather have this roster or the one we currently have?
X/Wallace
Edwards/Knecht
McDaniels/x
Towns/Kuzma
Kessler/Reid
Yeah. I'd take this anyday of the week plus all of our picks for the next 7 years.
We could still have gotten someone like Conley or even jumped on Holiday when he became available.
Sounds way better than Gobert.
Lol, fans on here want to blow it up after two losses, but you think the same people are going to be cool with this team that would of never sniffed the playoffs, but they have "flexibility" sure right
I was fine with it. I have said multiple times I rather win a chip with a well developed team over blowing it all on some random. I was just as pissed about Gobert as I was about Butler.
Just because other fans here paraded Gobert as the second coming of Jesus didn't mean that I did.
Also we for sure would have made the playoffs. Within the past two years. Obviously through the playin and a first round sweep like Memphis but at least we would have been a better spot.
Your team is not closer to a championship then the one currently constructed. It's a worse offensive and defensive team but that's ok because they'd have 3 mid round picks?

3? Try 5.
Also they'd perform exactly the same. So yes. I'd rather have the picks than not.
