ANT should not have play and shoot that much. As long as no one will do the coaching job with ANT, we have no chance unless maturity touch him by miracle. But he play for 5 years and make the same mistake again and again. But owner, FO decide to make him untouchable so what may happen is that in 2 years, ANT will ask to be trade and he will mature in a other place with a much better coaching. What a waste to see this team, with talent but no guideline, unable to keep focus, same mistake again and again...frustrating.

More and more, it just feels like this season’s success or failure will be determined by whether we win Game 83, and avoid OKC.

Figured it was a matter of time before this group turned on Ant fully. First it was KAT, then Ant, anybody but the garbage role players he's surrounded by.

Dude had multiple 40pt games this past month, he has a few bad games and people are saying he shouldn't close.

Priorities are wild here.

Y'all just turn on whatever star we have.

Ant shouldn’t close because he doesn’t run the offense or move ball. It has nothing to do with individual scoring, it has to do with poor decision making, shot selection, and losing more clutch games than any other team in the NBA.

I would say that there is a propensity to overvalue role players here. There is also this Ant is the second coming of Jesus and he can't do anything wrong mentality too. Ant had been fairly selfish or tunnel vision often. He is still not making the right reads half of the time. It's the same criticism we been saying since his college days. He hasn't show enough improvement around that area and also fairly bad during clutch time. He is still a top 25 player, just not top 10 as we like him to be. Basketball is not an individual sport, we need another alpha type player besides Ant. Randle doesn't seem to be it.

I have continually been one of the biggest defenders of Karl-Anthony Towns, and was a huge defender of Kevin Love during his tenure in Minnesota (he was right to ask out).

I 100% stand by the consistent criticisms I’ve had of Anthony Edwards throughout his career. The dude is extremely talented, but his style of play is problematic, especially in close games.

ANT is talented and if he become mature one day, he will be in the race for MVP, no doubt. He is a hard worker and willing to learn. But at that stage, the fact is that he is the worst clutch shooter in NBA since we got data. He have to accept let others do the job when game is close. We have good shooters, guys able to attack the rim. But to defend ANT, this is :

- A coaching issue ( setting system when we are in the clutch time is not that difficult) but sometimes you have to tell ANT he won't be the option.
- Others players have a tendency to hide themselves when the game is tight. Why? They know ANT will take the shoot or they don't wanna take responsibility ? I don't know, kind of Chicken and Egg story for me here...

I will say this....

I think most of our "problems" this year have to do with Ant. However, I personally am not concerned as it is part of the development process for someone who is only 23 and still maturing, as well as someone in his first time as the team's leader. I do think it makes me consider giving him help in a guy like Kevin Durant. I do think a move like that would help more than it would hurt, provided the trade package makes sense.

Try again, Klomp.

What are some of the things we have always known about Anthony Edwards?

-Effectively takes nights off against bad teams
-Plays through injury when he shouldn't to the team's detriment
-Doesn't take advantage of his size as much as he should
-Tends to whine too much at times
-Overconfident in his own abilities at times, and doesn't always trust his teammates like he should

These are all things that have directly led to some of the team's most frustrating losses.

Now hear me out: I'm not saying to trade him. I'm not saying he's a bad player. I'm not saying he should be benched or have his minutes cut in half. This is all part of his own development as a player, and specifically as a star player who is called upon as the team's leader.

Ant’s development has no doubt been hurt by a cuck coach like Finch. Finch lets him do whatever.

I don't know that I'd say his development has been hurt, but I don't think it's been maximized. I don't think it's a fireable offense, but it's definitely disappointing.

I agree with you guys. Large part is due to poor coaching and lack of leadership form the rest of the team. I'm annoyed with ANT at times but i have to admit that i don't see much people talking to him. Mike do it most of the time but Mike is not very vocal and he need back-up from teammate and coach. As long as ANT keep doing the same mistake at clutch time, it will be hard to expect a better outcome.
