With what he is getting paid, I don't know it makes sense to keep him long term. I think we badly need improved PG play and playmaking, Randle has become a pretty nice fit but he clearly had nothing against this OKC team, they destroyed him.

Looks like size is a major plus in the modern NBA, I don't know how we could get the kind of talent we would probably need to be big and compete. there are lots of teams looking for talented 5's. A lot to think about.

Rudy sucks because they have no pg. Mike is completely toast. A legit pg would transform the offense. This is on Connelly for thinking Mike and Dilly could get the job done. I would also sell high on Dilly if there is a taker. I do not see him as a starter in this league.

Another problem is that Rudy usually requires a one-year acclimation period for a new guard. Can we afford that here?

I think a team to watch for Rudy is still Atlanta. His old coach is there, which should help speed the acclimation somewhat. And I think Trae is a PG who would look for Rudy and get it to him in the right spots, and Rudy can help cover for defensive limitations.

the reasons that Rudy appears to be not that great right now are:

a) we don't have any good p&r playmakers on the team

b) Finch largely went away from the low drop this year and instead had Rudy switching out on the perimeter, taking away from his rim protection and rebounding

if you even just cleared up issue b Rudy's defense and rebounding would easily outweigh his offensive shortcomings, by a massive margin. he's still rim-protecting at an all-time level and i think is still our most valuable player
