Despite all of their marketing efforts, the WNBA has the worst leadership of all professional sports leagues outside of Manfred and MLB which is slowly fading into complete and utter irrelevance.

I just hate Cheryl Reeve, and I’m glad to see her suspended.

“Her conduct and comments included aggressively pursuing and verbally abusing a game official on the court, failure to leave the court in a timely manner upon her ejection with 21.8 seconds to play in the fourth quarter, inappropriate comments made to fans when exiting the court, and remarks made in a post-game press conference,” the league said in a statement Saturday.

I watch last 2 games. Game 2 was on Lynx as they blow a big lead and and made a couple of costly TO. But tonight was totally rigged. How can Phee get 0 FT when there was a ton of fouls made on her? Coach reaction was not acceptable and suspension is deserved but overall, WNBA ( and NBA) should adressed seriously the Refs issues. Level is really not good enough, no consistency, some teams clearly beeing treated unfairly....

I know many disagree but I think we should have drafted and kept Angel Reese. Her size and rebounding would be fantastic for us. We might be looking at back to back championships in a month had we drafted her.

Who did we draft instead? I don't remember.

I love Cheryl Reeves and I'm glad to see her suspended as it brings more attention to the POS job the refs did. As long as it doesn't carry over into next season.

Cheryl Reeve would be in prison by now if that had happened.

Talent on the court means absolutely nothing if the player that possesses it is a selfish disease permeating through the locker room.

This exactly.
Enormous narcissist with a temper that would make DeMarcus Cousins blush.
Without a shred of his skill with the ball.

Cheryl Reeve is not doing any service to growing the game with the Bobby Knight routine she has been putting on,
even if the refereeing has been really really poor and one sided for 2 consecutive postseasons now.

It's not good for the game though when star players keep getting hurt because the referees let the players play way too physical and refuse to blow the whistle. Was also atrocious what they let opponents do to Caitlin Clark before she got hurt.
If Cheryl had just pointed that out with a little more diplomacy she would have had a lot of people on her side.

WNBA needs to decide what kind of brand it wants to be.
The overphysicality and bullying and trying to out-physical the men is not appealing to me as a fan and as the father to a future fan to whom these players will be role models.
And neither is the drama that goes with it.
They need to take a serious look at adjusting the rules so that the skill level can shine through and players quit getting hurt so much.

Skilled players coming down and trading knocking down big shots is exciting.
Those same players getting wiped out constantly with dirty screens and fouls is very much not.
Should be a very quick whistle for any contact outside the paint.

We traded down 1 spot and took Alissa Pili.

But the much bigger part is we also got the Sky's 1st round pick this year. So we have the 2nd best odds in the lottery - with a better than 50% chance to draft Top 2 and less than a 10% chance to drop to 4th.

I really don't think she would be that big of an issue, especially on a winning team with good chemistry. Personally, I take talent regardless of attitude unless it really is THAT bad, and I believe very few cases are THAT bad. I would rather gamble on that talent getting it together than them being a massive problem. On top of that, if she was that big of a problem she is still tradable. She is talented enough to still command a decent price. It's an easy yes for me.

Lynx are going to have to play perfect ball in the second half. Phoenix is heating up and making a big push, they got their momentum now.

We had a 13 point lead entering the 4th and blew it again. Unbelievable.

End of season for the Lynx :(. Way too many collapsing at clutch time. Our bench was non existent where Phoenix was pretty strong. Disappointing way to ended the season after such a great regular one.

We can complain about the refs all we want. We can complain about some bad luck and bad breaks. Fact is, at the end of the day, we couldn't get it done. The Lynx got work to do, two years in a row they looked like world beaters but failed to get over the hump. We need some size, we need to find some more answers. Great season, disappointing ending.

Mercury deserve a ton of credit, they knocked off both of last years finalist. They earned this title run.

To me we gave it to them with a little or large assist by the refs.

However you want to frame it, we failed, they prevailed. They earned it.

Can't agree more. Refs did not let opponents run a 19-4 at the four quarter, twice in 4 games, our bench was outscored 22-5 tonight. Phoenix was much better at clutch times and deserve it. Refs were not good but they are not the reason we lose.

It's OK for you to consider it earned. I just don't. Earned implies certain elements that I don't think were met. Otherwise every achievement is earned even if it comes from crazy luck or even cheating.
