Ryan Gomes: Impressive in January

Post#1 » by Frozen316 » Thu Jan 31, 2008 9:47 am

.491 FG, 6.7 rpg, 15.1ppg, 3 double doubles

The only number he hasn't improved on since early in the season is his 3-pt shooting which dropped from .441% in November to .237% in December and then .297 in January.

I wonder how many posters will give ANY credit to Whittman? He put Gomes on the "Shoulda Coulda Woulda" plan.

Gomes is certainly playing better, but it started when he began taking shots created within the offense versus shots he just decided to take on his own.

I like what I see as well.

wow is really shooting only 30% from beyond the arc?? to me it never seemed that low...

but anyway I love how he seems to get better every game. I hope we'll resign him to the MLE or less

He's been the wolves second best player -- although I hope we develop our youth so much that he's not in the top 3 by the end of the year.

I love his poise and I hope he's on the team in 2009.

Agreed. Although I doubt even best case scenario he'd fall farther than top 4.

I will be extremely upset if he doesn't get a long term deal with us.

He didn't even have a 3 pt shot until the end of last year. Two years ago he barely had a mid range shot.

yeah I know that but seeing him shooting from beyond the arc the past weeks it never seemed to me that he's shooting below 30%

Thanks, I didn't know that. That tells me he's a worker, developing his game.

Hopefully Brewer gets to the point that Gomes is. It definitely gives me hope on that front.
