There's a clock on those, right? Spreewell's has got to be just about up. But it would never happen anyway, as those trades are ridiculously expensive financially.

how does that actually work? can you sign them to 1 year contracts and have them as expirings?

That list is crazy. Rick Mahorn, take John Salley of "best damn sports show", Mark Jackson off of ABC, etc. There should be something like a 5 year rule for teams to be able to "Aaron McKie" someone.
Mahorn last played for Philly almost 10 years ago.

As far as I can make out as long as you don't renounce them or they sign a new deal they stay as a cap hold forever.
