Now a days, some one does soemthing like KG and everyone has to get all a PC. It makes me sick. This is basketball people. Quit being sissies. When KG makes the comments he does, it doesn't mean he disrespects his opponents, it just means he's talking jive. It's just like a boxing match. Each boxer gets in each others face and talks jive, you know, tryign ot get in the other one's head. That doesn't mean they disrespect them. in boxing you always have to respect your opponent, if you don't you'll lose.
When KG was here he brought the same intensity to practice against his own teammates. Just ask Wally Szerbiak, and now Ray Allen who complains about KG's langauge during practices. I think it's awesome. KG is one of the few players in the NBA that can infuse energy in his team, and its fans. What he's doen for the celtics is just amazing.
I think you make some good points here, and I dont think I necessarily am arguing against them. The intensity is ok, and I agree about old school NBA; back when the Lakers and Celtics played each other for titles, and there was a good rivalry and everyone was intense. But you know what else came with it? They hated each other, and the fans hated the other team.
I'm not saying he doesnt have the right to be intense. My problem is with the people who say or imply that I dont have right to boo him for it. You want to go on cheering him? Fine, that's your choice. But as I said, I'm a Wolves fan, and if any player is talking smack, getting in Al's face, and disrespecting our team, I'm not going to like it, whether its KG or anyone else. Again, I respect what he did while he was here, but its a new time now. I'm not giving him a free pass to disrespect our team just cause of what he did in the past.
Its kind of like breaking up with a girl you really liked and didnt want to lose. What if you see her at a party with her new (better?) boyfriend, and she's talking smack about you, talking about how happy she is with the new guy, calling you a punk, getting in the face of your new girlfriend, etc....you gonna go on loving and respecting her just cause you had good times together? Is she free to behave anyway she wants just cause of what happened in the past?
As I said, I was ready and willing to cheer KG and the Celts to see him get a ring, but I just dont thing KG is showing the same respect to MN and the Wolves that everyone seems to suggest we owe him. We dont owe him ****.

I don't think anybody's saying you don't have the right to boo him, just that it's a tad silly, and that the behavior isn't exactly a new development, this him trating the other team with disrespect stuff.
KG's KG, he's always tried to be a bit of a bully on the court. To me, it was one of the aspects of his personality that seemed the most ridiculous to me. I always found it funny that people would be like "OMG, LOOK AT HOW INTENSE HE IS, HE'S BUGGING HIS EYES OUT AND CURSING UP A STORM!!!"
I think his performance after the first game against MN was over the top, but it shouldn't have been unexpected. There's trash talk in every game, and KG's always had a mouth on him. He's not going to change his demeanor just because he's playing against a group of players that play for the team he used to play for.

"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''
