I don't think being undersized is a problem with McCants. Ray Allen is the same size as McCants.

If he starts playing and acting like Ray Allen then it won't be a problem.

Min Out:
SG Rashad McCants
C Michael Doleac
PF-C Chris Richard
In:
SG J.J. Redick
PF-C Hilton Armstrong

New Orleans Out:
PG Bobby Jackson
PF-C Hilton Armstrong
In:
PG Carlos Arroyo
SG: Rashad McCants
PF-C Adonal Foyle

Orlando Out:
PG Carlos Arroyo
SG JJ Redick
C: Adonal Foyle
In:
C Michael Doleac
PG Bobby Jackson
PF-C Chris Richard

Orlando: Gets rid of their players that they can't get figured out. JJ barely plays. Arroyo, in my opinion is good, for some reason isn't in their plans in Orlando. Foyle to match salaries. They get a steady vet PG off the bench and PF-C Chris Richard from Florida, who their board loves and a vet Center off the bench who is an upgrade over Foyle who can pop the mid range J giving Howard some space.

NO: They get the fire power off the bench the coach has been asking for. Really they make out like bandits. They give up Hilton a promising young big, but get back some real scorers off the bench in Arroyo and McCants.

Min: They give up on McCants and deal Doleac and Richard for a shooter to replace McCants in Redick and a real Center prospect in Armstrong.

Interesting deal for the Wolves. I don't know a thing about Armstrong, but they certainly could use another big body. It doesn't look like he's really had an opportunity to play, but on paper he looks like the mobile defensive-minded big we need to play next to Big Al.

As for Redick... harder to swallow, but only because I'm inherently anti-Dukie. I look at his game and think Trajon Landon, another successful college guy whose game didn't translate the pros, but who was drafted high anyway because he was a Dukie. One thing I will say is that the Wolves' needs at the 2 (outside shooting) fit Redick's skill set far more than Orlando's needs (defense.) I'd roll the dice on this deal.

Something to think about: This time next year, the Wolves going to be sitting on $13mil in expirings that they can trade (unlike Theo, who they pretty much have to let expire), possibly three 2009 first round picks, and will have a better idea of where they have a need (assuming they draft a big this year, the need will likely be a scorer). $13mil in expirings + (McCants or whatever youth is deemed tradable, along with picks) could be Michael Redd. Could be Joe Johnson. Or maybe someone who reupped with their team this summer and isn't working out like Deng or Iggy.
