Jaric/Smith for Expirings I'd consider...all the rest is uneccesary for us.

This slides in just under the salary match, and only uses one of your best expirings:

ORL GETS: Craig Smith, Jaric, Chris Richard
MIN GETS: Garrity, Augustine, Gortat

Change in Team Outlook: +16.4 ppg, +7.2 rpg, and +4.4 apg.

Would you use Craig Smith to escape Jaric's contract? This deal saves us about $2.2 mil this year, and three years, and about $21 mil of Jaric the next three years. We could waive Augustine pretty cheaply if we wanted to use our TPE to pick some up off waivers.

ORL and MIN can make great trade partners, for big or small deals.

I'd do it. Not sure if Jaric is someone Orlando has in mind as another piece to help with their run, but he could fit nicely there.

I've tossed this up on the ORL board, and only gotten favorable responses. I thought this was particularly appropriate:

I like that trade as we would be deep as hell, only thing is we are trading away our 3 most unused pieces and getting back 3 that SVG would want to find sometime for imo

One of the biggest worries from the ORL fans is wrecking the chemistry of a team that has been doing pretty well through the first 50 games. This trade is small and only removes pieces that aren't contributing to the Magic anyway. Slide the others in as bench players, and it fills up the team, and doesn't touch Arroyo or Dooling's expirings.
